However, in my opinion there was nothing inventive or truely unique about it. The Sheaffer snorkel on the other hand had a new and inventive filling system, and carried the Sheaffer reconized an inventive inlaid nib, which in all reality was followed by the Parker inlaid nib, at a later date. The Sheaffer snorkel was one of the many inventive pen ideas from Sheaffer, that set the standard for so many pen manufacturers during this era. |

Without doubt the greatest of them were the later snorkels, particularly the PFMs. The PFM III is my favourite, it has everything that is best about fountain pens. My PFM III is in beautiful dark red, it fits my hand, writes perfectly, and is truly just the best. The only downside is that it stays in my large pen case, I really would not know what to do if I lost it. I carry around in my case a black Valiant snorkel and a black Imperial, both of which also write so well. |
