RE: 4 SQUARE!

Maybe it's because I'm from Canada or something ... but what the heck is 4 Square?

RE: 4 SQUARE!

Oh, Canada.... not sure if I can use hockey to convey the gist of this game or not... hmmm... think of a very tiny hockey game played with 4 "goals" and 4 "goalies." The hockey rink would be a, oh let's say 12' x 12', square in turn divided into 4 equal squares. Each "goalie" has a square to defend (the game can be played with 2-4 players. If there are empty squares, I believe they're either "out of bounds" or they don't count for points, I can't really remember – I was seven years old... it's been a few years). The object is to defend your "goal" or square against other players trying to bounce the "puck" (a big bouncy ball, actually) past you but inside your square to score a point. Every time somebody bounces the ball to your square, if you can catch it, you immediately bounce it to someone else's square and try to get it past them to score. Since I haven't played in 1 or 2 years (ahem), I can't remember what score wins. Help, anybody? By the way, I love picking on my Canadian friends – I don't know you, but I hope you don't mind a little mild fun-poking... 4-Square's a lot of fun when you're 8 years old – waaayyyyy better than boring old hopscotch.

Canadian Dude, I am Canadian too, and we SO played four-square all damn recess every damn recess. It kicked. You must be from frickin Ontario or some weird Out East Place.
Also, we Canadians love being poked. Especially by Yanks. Poke away, Yanks! ;P

RE: 4 SQUARE!

I'm from London, that's about half way between Buffalo and Detroit. I kinda get the game your talking about, but I'm pretty sure I've never seen it played around here. As for picking on canadians ... when's the next "kick a canadian" day?
