No pop star should be on a rock chick list. Go Kim Gordon!

I had a hard time deciding, but I went with Joan Jett. I mean, c'mon! She sang "I love rock n' roll" for crissakes!
And even though I'm a woman, even I know she's hot!

Yes, Gwen is a certified babe with great stage presence and talent, and that perfect stomach (mmmmmmmmmmmm, Stefani) but come on kids! Janis was and is Rock and Roll! You will not find fashion conscience Gwen downing a bottle of Southern Comfort and belting out Get It While You Can!

God bless Pearl

Lyle, No Dount is a pop band. They rock, but they are pop.

RE: RE: gwen stefani?

excuse me curious but No Doubt is not pop the early stuff put out by them was ska the newer stuff is a mix between ska and rock. I know you arent saying that the song hella good is a pop song. why else would the play it on the alterative rock stations. another thing is that I listen to classic rock stations all the time and I never here Janis Joplin .

Are you kidding me Lyle, you are telling me that because No Doubt is played on alt rock channels they cannot be a pop band? Un hun. I suppose that's why nobody has ever heard of cross over music, appealing to different markets etc? Faith Hill and Shania Twain are either country or pop but cannot be both? Are you serious?

As for Janis Joplin sweetie...... she IS classic Rock! There is no denying that. Not my problem if you have never heard of her. Have you heard of The Doors either? Maybe Black Sabbath?

I can hear Janis' scratchy voice screaming out now "so come onnn, take another little piece of my heart now baby" Try doing a search on her on the web, I GUARENTEE you'll recognize some of her songs, even if you didn't knwo who was doing the singing

RE: gwen stefani?

if u compare no doubt to other ska or ska/rock bands you will definately see the pop in her. it doesn't have to be an insult, but u can take it that way. she probably wouldn't make nearly as much money without the pop.

I missed the whole Carla/Lyle spat over the weekend but just had to put my 2 cents in.

Lyle, next time you want to play with the computer, ask your mommy or daddy first. The Internet is not a toy, itÂ’s a tool and so are you. Now go outside, get some fresh air and play before your purple dinosaur show comes on. Have a great day you whiny piece of ****.

All my love, El Schaleben.

All right first of all I would like to apollogize to anyone who I might of offended, this is a place where people place their opinions and no one is more right or wrong than anyone else. I lost sight of that fact and for that I am sorry. while my opinion still stands that gwen will always be the best rock chick of all time(it is just my opinion) some of you(all you) seem to dissagree with me and I respect your opinions.
I would also like to address Mr. elschaleben, while I do not appreciate your inflamatory comments towards me, I guess I deserved it. for the record I am not some little kid as you implied I happen to be 19 years old. so Mr. E I guess it is time for both of us to pull our heads out of owr own asses an stop insulting people we have never even met. I bid you all farewell and thank you for the enlightening conversations

RE: gwen stefani?

hate to say it my fellow flower children... (we that grew up in the 60's in case some of you young-ins didn't know) but I hated flower power and all the crap that went along with it. there was a lady in the list that was good (Stevie Nicks), but the music was not for me. I'd have to give it to Gwen Stefani. my daughter introduced me to her, now I love her music. She may not be a legend of chick rock, but she will definitely surpass most of those ladies in the years to come.
