Ostomy Management

I just recently located an ET nurse. I got on the internet and came up with the Shaz web site. I signed her Dreambook and asked for some help with a skin problem. This started me to talking to a wonderful guy in Australia that has been my savior. My colostomy is 10 months old now and without his help I could never have gotten this far. I read everything I get from the Ostomy Mail and I visit Shazs'website almost daily to see what is going on in other ostomate's lives. And thanks! to Larry Trapp also and the Evansville Ostomy Chapter letting me be part of your website. I look forward to every new day.

Support needed!

I learned mostly everything about my ostomy through trial and error! Mostly error! I had emergency surgery, and no training from the nursing staff, nor did I have access to a nurse during recovery....so, you do what your common senses tell you and hope for the best. I thing that the support groups online are great and I have learned a lot by researching on my own, and by receiving news letters from this website. I only hope that I can help others from the the things I have learned. Burdens are always easier when shared!
