If i had a trillion dollars i would definetly spend it on genetic research. Think about it, they already know stem cell therapy works, someday it will cure many things. If enough money was funneled into these types of research then every disease in the world could be cured, clones on the other hand, well that's gets in morality issues. But to cure every disease imaginable would be an amazing thing.

I'm not against genetic research. However, what would be the point of living longer and curing diseases like cancer if the planet is so dirty that we can't go outside without respirators 3 months out of the year? Maybe cleaning up the environment would help cure some of these mysterious diseases that keep popping up.

Actually, curing all the diseases known would have the adverse effect of an even faster overpopulation of the planet. Disease may be natures way of saying, "give me a rest dammit!"

I agree with Nik. Humanity is spreading faster and the world will no longer be able to support both us and other life forms. Not everyone can or should live until old age and it is selfish to try to do so. Sickness and death are just part of life and no matter what people do to try to do stop it or slow it down it is going to happen. The problem is that our selfishness and fear is going to screw the future generations. If I had an island I would not allow any medical testing because it would only lead to over population and pollution. This is not the way to survive. It is the to become extinct.
