Egypt,USA,UK-A SECRET DEAL TO LEASE ASAB TO THE US

Egypt,USA,UK-A SECRET DEAL TO LEASE ASAB TO THE USA !!!

------------------------------------------------------------------------ --------

Egypt+the west have a common interest in a landlocked Ethiopia !

1. a landlocked ethiopia is good for egypt, to easily blackmail ethiopia in case the nile flow is redirected or reduced

2. the west, especially usa and uk want a base on the red sea, in case they are driven out of arabia. so usa and uk urge ethiopia the border ruling in order to later lease or buy assab and the nearby area from eritrea, ethiopia would not sell asab for them they know that.
eritrea and the usa have signed a secret deal whereby eritrea would sell or lease asab and the rearby region to usa if the latter helped it to finalize the border demarcation.

3. the west has an interest in a weak and poor ethiopia that could not grow to be a threat to the CAUSE OF WHITE SUPREMACY !!!

THIS INFORMATION SHOULD BE DISSEMINATED IN ETHIOPIA RIGHT NOW, THE ETHIOPIAN PEOPLE GOT TO KNOW ABOUT THIS EGYPT-WESTERN CONSPIRACY AND THE SECRET DEAL BETWEEN THE USA
AND ERITREA !!!

USA,EGYPT,UK and THE WEST FURTHERING THEIR INTERESTS AND THE CAUSE OF WHITE SUPREMACY AT E T H I O P I A'S E X P E N S E !!!

ALL OPPOSITION PARTIES SHOULD CALL A DEMONSTRATION IN ADDIS AGAINST THIS US/UK/WEST/EGYPT MOVE IMMEDIATELY !!!

THOSE FOREIGNERS TOTALLY I G R N O R E AND MOCK AT THE ETHIOPIAN MASSES WHO ARE AGAINST THE RULING !!!

While we r still shouting at each other and trying to figure out who is Ethioipian and who is not our Upper Riparian friends are doing what they been doing to us for millennia.

Quote:
Egypt does not believe that it is prudent to negotiate an agreement with any of the upper riparians and therefore prefers the “no-agreement” alternative and the status quo as its best alternative to a negotiated agreement, until all of the relevant facts become known.

Say God save Ethiopia from poverty, diseases, ignorance, treaters, and people who forget their culture and their God. If God can save Ethiopia from these horrible enemies that is keeping the African peoples down then you don´t have to worry about the Egyptians or any other country´s forces.

We have lived in that region for thousand of years with the Egyptians. They have once tried to invade Ethiopia with the help of their British friends during colonisation but thanks to Tewdros, Ras Alula and Yohannes they were thaught a good lesson. The Egyptian army couldn´t overcome the tribes of the Mahdi in Sudan either even with all the modern weapons they had gotten from England.

There is no one who can win in war over the Cushtic peoples of East Africa. And they will never win over Ethiopia in war. These Egyptians were own by Ethiopia for 400 years. Many of the Pharoes and builders of Monuments in Egypt were Cushtic peoples from what is today Sudan and Ethiopia. They have never been able to colonise Sudan or Ethiopia. And they will never be able to do so.

I am referring to our internal problem so that we negotiate on the international arena from a position of strength. No one is looking to annex or invade Ethiopia, but of course they want us to be weakened. It is much cheaper and effective than invasion.
Egypt's life is intertwined with the Nile and it is their lifeblood, so they go to any length to protect their, undoubtedly, primary interest. The conflicts in East Africa, be it in Ethiopia through Eritrea, Somalia, Sudan has Egypt’s long hand directly or indirectly. This tells us, and u don’t have to be a politician to figure out what their agenda is.
So how do we prepare for the impending conflict first on the negotiating table and ultimately, if that fails of course, in the war front.
U can only learn from History and apply its lessons in to the future in the hope of not repeating the same mistakes or make a new one.

Let us not overlook the fact that the Nile issue itself is the source of the perpetuity of our internal problems. "Unity of the Nile Valley" is the long standing policy of Egypt that still characterizes its ideology and relationship with Ethiopia and The Sudan.

Egypt's hegemonic aspiration over the Nile had, for instance, manifested itself through the 1875 and 1876 Gundet and Gura wars where Ethiopia successfully thwarted Egyptian agression. Their aim was to cut that part of Ethiopia, including Lake Tana, the Source of Abbay, and connect it with the Sudan. When Nasser came to power in 1952 with his Pan-Arab identity and revolution, Egypt had already failed to win Eritrea in the United Nations. Thus his regime turned to ethnic subversion. In 1955 Cairo began working for the instigation of of an "Arab" revolution in the then autonomous region of Ethiopia, i.e. Eritrea. Muslim elements from Western Eritrea were invited to study and enjoy special benefits in Cairo so that they can absorb the spirit of Arab revolution and adopt a modern arab identity. They also learned how to set up a modern guerrila "liberation front". That is how ELF was created. ELF was integrally connected with Egypt and was supossed to be a key to a future Nasserist victory in the entire Nile basin. You remember Egypt's name was changed (1958) to UAR (United Arab Republic). One of his vision was to incorporate Sudan and Eritrea and marginalize Ethiopia of Emperor Hailesellassie.

In order to promote Eritrea's liberation from Ethiopia, Nasser was also willing to help local christian Tigreans who resisted unification with the Haieselassie Ethiopia. The protestant Wolde-ab Woldemariam was invited in 1955 to broadcast daily anti-Ethiopian messages on Radio Cairo to the Eritreans. Egypt remained (overtly and latter covertly) the main pillar of support for the Eritrean separatist movements.

In the South East as well, Egypt's (Nasser's) influence on the Somali nationalists was significant. Begginning mid-1950's Nasserist policy, literature, and agents worked to enhance the anti-Ethiopian dimension of emerging Somali nationalism. With such backing the Somalis joined the Arab League in 1974 and encouraged by the Arabs began claiming around one-third of Ethiopia's territory.

When Eritrea separated from Ethiopia, Egypt felt empty. Mission accomplished, but with little or no discernible impact over the Nile Hydro politics. That is why they are now once again behind every group that vows to fight Ethiopia. Directly or indirectly, they have continued with their subversive acts although at the official level there seems to be a cooperative arrangement of Mubarek's government with Ethiopia through the on-going Nile Basin Initiative. The truth is Egypt's standing policy is to keep Ethiopia weak. This sounds a propaganda or a diversionary tactic when said specially by a government of Ethiopia, past or present. But that is not the case. This has been a stark fact even by outsiders, scholars and politicians who have interest in and authority over the Horn of africa. Ethiopia, being a country of multi ethnic groups with complex historical interaction, it is easy to fall prey to such ploy. Egypt has managed to easily pursue its policy by creating or supporting the numerous "liberation fronts" we had/have yesterday and to day.

One caveat though, by connecting our internal problems with the Nile issue and Egypt, it is not intended to bleak at the internal sources of discordance and the difficulties encountered in establishing a country where the different peoples could live and develop in equality and dignity. But by and lage all our efforts are always being undermined by the subversive acts of countries like Egypt. Behind every major liberation front there is Egypt. The Somalia peace process is a live testimony for this. Had it not been for Egypt's instructions to one or the other faction, the process would have gone a long way. Just like the Somalia situation, we are also doomed not to listen to eachother, not to negotiate among ourselves about our future. Look, who really listens to who in Ethiopia? No one! Every thing looks chaotic where every one stands against each other.

Therefore, what I am saying is all this noise between and among us carries in it the noise and message of that mighty river, the Nile, from the perspective of Egypt. But many of us may not realize that and in fact the militants do not want to buy it. For the militants this is a diversion from the "true" problems. All our enemies poverty, disease, hunger, etc. could not be tackled effectivey in such a noisy environment. We need stability, we need to be able to talk to one another, we need to have a bottom line, we should be able to achieve agreement among ourselves at least on a minimum..... Would the external forces allow us to do so- IS THE BIG QUESTION.

I agree, that was the whole premise of what i wanted to raise when i posted the article by our learned scholar. Our problem in Africa is our failure to c the big picture and concentrate our effort on solving it, instead of squabbling among ourselves.
Most, if not all our problems stems from the lack of visionary leadership (from top government level to the bottom) who look in the future not in 5 or 10 years, but one who is committed to forge a strong and stable nation for hundreds of years to come. One who thinks my neighbor is my future, my neighbors well being guarantees mine too, one who goes above our ethnic differences and one who is brave enough to take unpopular decisions. Do we have that kind of leadership?
Unfortunately w don't have that kind anywhere on the continent, excluding Mandela.
So that is why we r left at the mercy of the Almighty, and that is why we should plead, believers or otherwise, God! Please save Ethiopia

I agree with you both that first step is unity and a strong government that will be able to fight for Ethiopias interests. That government will emerge if we Ethiopians work for it. If we believe and never give up we will be victorious.

Egypt's threats against upper Nile states is an open secret. For a long time now, Egypt has played the bully of the North East African countries. The 1929 Nile Treaty signed between Egypt and Britain and the 1959 Treaty signed between Egypt and Sudan totally ignore the needs of those countries from where the Nile River begins its journey.

Countries such as Ethiopia, Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania are forbidden to make use of the Nile River for their own development or should ask the permission of Egypt before they can use it.

Ethiopia's attempts in the past to build a dam on the Blue Nile has been foiled by military threats from Cairo. Lately Kenya and Uganda have announced that they should not recognize the 1929 Treaty since it was signed between Egypt and Britain which was then the colonial ruler of the two East African countries. They now say they want the treaty repealed because Britain did not work for their interests. But I doubt if Egypt will agree to that.

For now, the only hope Ethiopia and the other Nile basin countries have is to pray for some kind of bonanza from oil discovery or something. If and when that happens, then they can build their militaries that can stand up to Egypt's threats.

Ethiopia has to build a great and powerfull army because we live in a dangrous neighborhood. But as far as Egypt goes we have nothing to fear becuase history in the past thousand of years have shown that even in the times of the great Pharoes ( by the way some of them were Ethiopians) and even when they got modern military aid fron the British the Egyptian have bever been able to subdue one single Cushtic tribe in Sudan or Ethiopia. The proud and gallant people of the Cushtic nations Sudan and Ethiopia have always been a fierce and able people in wars. The only way any enemy can subdue these peoples of the Horn of Africa is the divide and rule method and by igniting hatred between the tribes and peoples and get them to fight with eachother. If the peoples of Ethiopia are united and also are united with their Eastern African brothers there is no power in the world that can conquer them militarily or in any other sense.

You put the historical aspect of Egyptian machinations so eloquontly, save one aspect: the current Woyane's role in weakening Ethiopia pursuant to Egyptian plans of land-locking her. To this day, Meles is the stauncehst supporter of this weakening of Ethiopia; hence, he is an extension of this Egyptian machination. You failed to mention this, but knowing your slant to Woyane's position in some recent writings I read that you posted, I am not surprised about your silence of implicating Woyane in this grand plan of Egypt. Whatever, Woyane is doing now in the Nile Basin initiative is only the cry of the dog after the hyena has left: jib kehede wisha chohe. Woyane surrendered Ethiopia's seaports and now claims to be the defender of Ethiopia's interest. Lemayawkuh Taten, as they say in Ethiopia.
