What's your opinion on Nagin's Comments?

Here's the comment: "How do I ensure that New Orleans is not overrun by Mexican workers?"

I guess I'd just prefer Jesse Jackson keeping his mouth shut about no work for African Americans effected by this tragedy from here on out. If immigrants are making $17+/hour on rebuilding Katrina-effected areas, I think that African Americans (and any other nationality) can too. $17/hour isn't bad. That's $35,000+ annually, and more if they're over 40 hours a week, which I'm sure is the case. Plus they're paying for housing (granted not the best conditions), and 3 meals a day. That's pretty decent! At least the hispanics know when there's a buck to be made, and take advantage of the situation. Imagine if the US Border Patrol didn't turn a blind eye to all of these immigrants coming in to help out and help themselves out after Katrina... New Orleans would be a ghost town.

I agree with you Julie, the lazy bastards feel more comfortable blaming whitey than getting off their asses and pulling themselves out of their own shit.
