The average Americans credit card debt is around $10,000. Guess what people, you have to pay it all back and if you just pay the minimum you're going to pay at least twice as much for your purchases. So much for that big sale huh.

A friend of mine owes many thousands of dollars to major credit card companies and still gets "YOU'RE APPROVED" things in the mail daily. These companies want people like her because they pay 100 times what they charge by the time you figure out all the penalties and high interest. They're preying on people's weaknesses and catching them up in a vicious circle. That friggin' blows.

Yes, but they're running a business so they're going to go for the market they can get the most money from. That's how you make a profit. Credit cards will continue to market to the people who will make them the most money It's the parents job to teach their kids how to use credit responsibly so they don't fall into the trap.
