Posted By: asdfgh Posted On: Dec 8, 2003 Views: 2586 | Final Fantasy Tactics GBA I prefer what they do in Final Fantasy Tactics GBA--sign up for missions at pub, get it done, then get paid. It's like you're some mercenary or bounty hunter. I thinks it's really fun. |
Posted By: Roanix Posted On: Dec 4, 2003 Views: 2686 | Lufia II At the beginning of Lufia 2, that... guy... I want to say Maxim, comes into a store and gets paid for eliminating monsters. I think more games need to set a basis like that. |
Posted By: Dragoonkain372 Posted On: Dec 4, 2003 Views: 2721 | Do you prefer RPGs that pay a salary or fighting I think it is better when you get paid by salary because in games when you get a salary (Ex:FF8) you have to learn to manage your money and it gives you more of a challenge considering what to buy and what not to buy. |
Posted By: Wilfredo Martinez Posted On: Dec 1, 2003 Views: 1120 | Money in RPGS Well, yeah, it's nice to get money from fighting, but in most RPGs, there is NO explanation for this, and it's ABSURD! In paper-and-pen RPGs, the money reprsented loot taken from enemies, or from treasures found. That's OK. But where do mindless monsters get money? Or carry it? or use it for?? It would make much more sense if the money came from rewards for hunting monsters. Or, perhaps uninteligent monsters could be poached for materials that could be sold or used for making items, as in FF Tactics. Or maybe Console-game heroes should just be happy with the money in treasure chests. Hey, it worked well enough for us P&P players! |
Posted By: RPG Knight Posted On: Dec 1, 2003 Views: 1097 | More Realism debate. Well, obviously getting a salary is more realistic... But come on! I just want some money whenever I want! Why do you think I'm training!? Sure, there's experience, but I also want money! I don't like realistic games as much. I think if you wanted a realistic game, you'd go outside... And walk to somewhere. Though I did think Earthbound had a great idea. Even if you did destroy some monsters, it seemed as if you didn't get anything from them. But then, you'd go to the bank and you'd find that your dad just randomly decided to deposit some cash for no real reason. Aah, those were the days. |
Posted By: Budokai Posted On: Dec 1, 2003 Views: 1071 | too late Dude, they've already made a game like that. It's called "The Sims".......just without the part about stopping an evil maniac from destroying the world and all that other stuff. |
Posted By: Snake Eyez Posted On: Dec 1, 2003 Views: 961 | $$$ Well, maybe your characters could get a part-time job while they try to save the world. They could work at "Grease World" and earn a little extra cash so they could buy all those super-shiny swords and stuff. And then by the end of the day, they'd be too tired to go out and stop the evil badguy from destroying the planet, so they'd just go home and take a shower and rub some Bengay on their joints and go to sleep. Hey, I think I'm on to something here......... I ought to call Squaresoft up and see if they can make this idea into a nifty RPG. |
Posted By: Jigga Posted On: Nov 30, 2003 Views: 933 | Why Not?? There truly is NO otherway to do things. When I kill you, you pay me. If I kill your neighbors, they pay me... That's just the way things go. |
