| Posted By: Burt Posted On: Mar 20, 2006 Views: 2132 | *Crossing Over? I was watching Ellen this afternoon, and I saw John Edwards on the show. He claims to be a medium to the other side. On the show he was doing his thing, and connecting people with their crossed loved ones. I really don't know what to think about this. I'm torn between believing this or not. It seems so real - him being able to connect with the other side and everything. He describes it as him being a television and the spirits are the broadcats that send their "signals" or messages to him. He continued to say that whatever broadcast is the loadest, or strongest is the one that gets through. When he did his reading to the audience he was able to connect a lady with her passed husband who came through to John Edwards and sent a message to his wife of happy birthday, and sure enough it was her birthday the next week. To me it seems very possible indeed that he has the ability to feel these voices or feelings and interpret them. It seems like there is a force still around after you die that allows for this and John Edwards is one of the few that are in touch with these forces. I'm not a believer in God, and hold very similiar beliefs to Keith, so I wrote all this to get his opinion on the subject. Do you believe that there are really such things as mediums and that there is in fact a force that still lingers around after we die? |

All I can say for sure is that there a lot of people who claim to be mediums, whether or not they are genuine is open to question. I do not know if anything of our personalities survives after death. I have an open mind on the matter. However, I have to say I very much doubt it. Keith |

We all want to beleive we will live forever, so let me offer you some considered thoughts, 1) we live forever in that our genes are passed on. 2) The human race is a bit like an animal, we are each the individual cells like hair etc we fall off the animal lives on. 3)I was told at a very early age that 'GOD' created me well if that's true, GOD is nothing more than all space all time and all matter. 4) If I am wrong and there is a 'GOD' then for the way in which he took my wife, he'd better not let me anywhere him cos I'll kill the Bastard (well he had no parentts did he). If there is a God I too would like a word with him about the way he took my wife from me last year. We have that in common. But I don't think that sort of God exists. I think that God is the universe in its entirity, and that includes us. |

I say "unfortunately" because believing that everything and all of us are part of God, then there is little room left for hope. I mean, if I am part of God (sorta speak) then how can I hope that there is something after death, let alone hope for an A on this weeks math test. lol |

There's no way in proving spirits, ghosts, mediums, aliens, blah, blah, etc, exist, there's no way to approve OR disapprove this, people should be more open-minded, they may all exist, and we could all be scared s***less if and when they come, or "cross-over" to our side. |

This actually bothered me quite a bit when I was very young and still believed in God and heaven. I wondered if there was a way to ask him to end it all, to be "excused" from heaven.
