If these arists were actually making an album today then the US would dominate. Here is why! Bruce Springsteen is by far the best song writer / lyrist on this list (or any list not containing Bob Dylan or John Lennon) and its not even close. *If you tell me Paul McCartney can presently write a song as Bruce Springsteen then your of your rocker. I think that if replaced Billy Joe Armstrong (although I like him) with Eddie Vedder to the US line up. BAM! its over...Springsteen, Vedder, Van Halen, Grohl, Flea. This line up would mess very well together. |

UK (McCartney, Clapton, Townshend, Collins, Winwood, Elton) or USA (Springsteen, Van Halen, Armstrong, Grohl, Flea, Stevie Wonder) Bruce over Paul. Clapton over Eddie. Townsend (by a ton) over Armstrong (how did he make it into this is comical at best). Collins and Grohl tie (because they are extremely different yet successful in their own way- hey did any of this have to make sense? Winwood way way way over Flea (lmao), Elton tie w/ Stevie (both righteous). UK by default, with this setup anyway. |

But I would switch Billie Joe Armstrong with Joe Perry from Aerosmith, Stevie Wonder with Ray Manzarek from The Doors, and Flea with Phil Lesh from the Grateful Dead. |
