Posted By: Lamby Posted On: Dec 19, 2008 Views: 2625 | UK rock supper group The best UK super group would consist of this: Drums: Keith Moon Bass Guitar: John Paul Jones Rhythm Guitar: Eric Clapton Lead Guitar: Jeff Beck and Jimmy Page Vocals: Freddie Mercury The Yardbirds had a line up with those three guitarists like that. So it would work. The 3 greatest guitar players ever with 3 very different styles. Keith Moon just beats John Bonham to drums spot. John Paul Jones is my preference over John Entwistle on bass guitar. Robert Plant is just not quite as good as Mercury but not far off. If you add Keith Richards to list of names mentioned, you have enough for 2 outstanding British line-ups, that in any order would beat a line up from the rest of the world. |

Posted By: Jeff Kirk Posted On: May 1, 2007 Views: 1896 | Seriously? With the exception of Billy Joel, that USA band is ridiculous. They don't stand a chance against the UK........and I'm AMERICAN! Carlos Santana vs. Jimmy Page? PLEASE! Sting vs. John Mellencamp? Right. Look at it this way: Peter Gabriel....Genius. Sting......Genius. Jimmy Page.....Genius. Granted, Paul Simon is well respected, but we're talking about a supergroup here. Now, Keith Richards sucks as far as I'm concerned. I saw him in concert, and he's just embarassing. However, you offset that by sticking Sheryl Crow on the American's side. Do we not have a better option than Sheryl Crow? Seriously! Larry Mullen Jr. vs Don Henley, I'l call that a toss-up. Both very functional drummers, but not exciting. |
Posted By: Suzie Posted On: Mar 2, 2007 Views: 1788 | Yes - Sheryl Crow on bass I don't know if she's the best player ever - but she would be great for the TV show's ratings! |
Posted By: Mike McNicholas Posted On: Dec 30, 2004 Views: 2475 | Where to vote for Dave Matthews You can vote for Dave Matthews at: http://www.rateitall.com/i-64513-dave-matthews-guitarvocals.aspx As well as the other artists that you mentioned. The artists with the most votes will be added to the next Supergroup. |
Posted By: Raine Posted On: Dec 3, 2004 Views: 2501 | a different line-up how about: Dave Matthews (DMB) on Rhythm Victor Wooten (Flecktones) on Bass Stewart Copeland (Police,Oysterhead) on Drums Joe Perry (Aerosmith) on Lead Guitar Ben Folds (Ben Folds 5) on Piano |
Posted By: Matthew Posted On: Aug 22, 2004 Views: 2626 | Ireland vs. Canada Just thought i'd add on to the idea of an all-Irish supergroup, but have them take on an all-Canadian supergroup. IRELAND Van Morrison (of Them)- Lead singer and rhythm guitar. Rory Gallagher (of Taste)- Lead guitar. Adam Clayton (of U2)- Bass Caroline Corr (of The Corrs)- Drums CANADA Neil Young (of Buffalo Springfield and CSN&Y)- Lead Singer and rhythm guitar. Randy Bachman (of The Guess Who)- Lead guitar. Jim Clench (of April Wine)- Bass Neil Peart (of Rush)- Drums It doesn't quite fit the format of this website, but it's interesting non the less. |
Posted By: Nic Posted On: Aug 22, 2004 Views: 1765 | Jimmy Page the U.S. doesn't stand a chance. the string section (bass, rythem guitar, lead guitar) blow them out of the water. is it really fair to pin people against a group with both Kieth Richards AND Jimmy Page. |
Posted By: Laura Posted On: May 11, 2004 Views: 1809 | It's gotta be UK, hasn't it? Without a doubt. the US has produced some great artists, but the UK have The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Who, T-Rex...to name but a few. Seriously, there is nothing better. |
Posted By: MikeMc Posted On: May 3, 2004 Views: 1673 | How about an all-Irish Supergroup? I'd like to see an all-Irish Supergroup take on America. Van Morrison - rhythm guitar, harmonica, sax Luka Bloom - rhythm guitar The Edge - lead guitar, piano Caroline Corr - drums Adam Clayton - bass Dolores O'Riordan - piano, guitar (I know, I know - what about Bono and Larry Mullen - I couldn't make it all U2). I put on 6 players, each of which can play instruments and aren't just a vocalist - which is what this website does with all the different lineups. |
Posted By: JenniFromtheBlock Posted On: Apr 29, 2004 Views: 1690 | UK vs USA Hello! Eddie Vedder on drums, Mellencamp,Santana, its all good. I doubt it would sound like an entire Santana song, and even if it did, who cares. The Uk side was a great talent as well, but I gotta pick the USA, its my home. |
Posted By: pete Posted On: Apr 21, 2004 Views: 1590 | uk super group Ian McLagan piano. Mitch Mitchell on drums |
Posted By: Angie Posted On: Apr 20, 2004 Views: 1582 | Second line up Picked the UK - What a group of artists. The US group would just sound like Santana... |
Posted By: Lucy Posted On: Apr 19, 2004 Views: 1568 | contest Good God This is a hard one! Livin in the US I had to go with my home. My heart is tellin me they should all play together on one album. What a kickass record that would be! Thanks for asking my opinion. Keep Rockin and stay peaceful. |
