the falls

I have just seen this film for the first time a month ago, since then I have seen it three time in a roll.
I am just fascinated by it.
it is difficult to say, but perhaps it is the best of PG work, is difficult to say that, as his productions are so relevant to the history of the cinema itself, but on this work you can see, or rather you can feel, pure imagination, creativity, and also it is very ingenious, using a lot of footage that are meaningless, but he manages to give a meaning, it is very much the video art work that I prefer, it comes in an almost randomic process.
So Pg pours fresh ideas in such a strong way, that there is no need for fancy takes, and stuff like that, the idea behind is so strong, that everything fits perfectly.

in 2003 PG did tulse luper, and it does recur again in 92 steps, but for my tastes, the images are very interesting, but the context is not strong enough to me, it is rather an approach that reminds me of the cremaster series, rather than a PG work for instance.

then again one must respect the trajectory of the artist, it would make no sense in making a work like the falls nowadays, but it does not stop me from get interested and affected by it more than the work produced nowadays. there is no clear explanation for it.

so thank you for the film I am very impressed again.

RE: the falls

Don't have anything very intellectual to say, but you know how you can love someone or something to such an extent, be so wholly consumed with the desire to explore and explain them or it to everyone else, that it just hurts? That's "The Falls".
