I think I may be coming across as a bit of a bitch lately on some of the boards. I am not going to apologize for it, because I have merely been stating my opinion, as crude as it may be.

So as a peace offering I will leave this quote that I have appreciated.

"If you are distressed by anything external, the pain is not due to the thing itself but to your own estimate of it; and this you have the power to revoke at any moment."

Marcus Aurelius

RE: Quote

How true. Aurora's choice of quotes is more than fitting for this particular poll considering that Marcus Aurelius was one of the most intelligent and philosophical leaders of his or any time period. Well read and insightful; Americans would never allow a man with these qualities to hold any office.

RE: Quote

I bet Bush has never even heard of Marcus Aurelius. Bush is still perusing the Cliff's Notes for "Go, Dog, Go!".

RE: Quote

That is an excellent quote, here are two of my favorite remedies for when the bitch within rears her ugly head (or is accused of doing so)....

" To escape criticism do nothing, say nothing, be nothing." ~ Elbert Hubbard

"Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could; some blunders and absurdities have crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is new day; you shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense." ~Ralph Waldo Emerson
