I thought I sidestepped that atrocity when I stated, "don't YOUR presidents..." but apparently I was too subtle. I attempted to do a little research into the matter, and have found that women earned the right to vote in 1920 in the states. That was four years after Canada allowed women to vote. As to your comment on the voting rights of Blacks, I found something about a 15th amendment allowing Blacks to vote in 1870. But I also found something that contradicted that; here it is for you, "One of the greatest achievements of the civil rights struggle was the passage of the Voting Rights Act of 1965, which removed most of the obstacles that kept African Americans away from the ballot box" So perhaps Meko, since you are so knowledgeable, you could explain this to me. |
