George Lucas, in his brilliance, knew that gay people would be very hip and trendy in the future, but at the time America wasn't ready for that kind of homo exposure, so he made a gay robot couple and put them in his movies. Of course, 3PO was the overtly gay male, and R2 was more reserved (3PO was the female of the relationship I guess). Their relationship gave many future gay people the courage to come out of the closet, including their costar, Marc Hamil, who is WAY gay. If it wasn't for R2 and 3PO, Marc Hamil would probably still be doing chicks. Or at least have a better career. Oh well...I'm rambling. |
