| Posted By: Dr. Mality Posted On: Mar 3, 2005 Views: 1495 | Hard choice for me In the end, I opted for traditional, oldschool style metal. Listening to the latest Judas Priest reminds me how great this genre is. Still have tons of death, thrash and doom records, though.... |
| Posted By: jens hellroute Posted On: Mar 3, 2005 Views: 1375 | Jep, a hardass toughie! I love Stoner rock (not so much Doom), and old NWOBHM like Tank and Maiden (Paul Dianno rulz!), but a bit also of non-metalish hardcore like Agnostic Front and Slapshot. |
| Posted By: Dr. Mality Posted On: Jan 13, 2005 Views: 1478 | The hardest poll yet Because I despise all of these things. After reading one of the best articles I've ever read all about the predatory practices and policies of Wal-Mart, I'm thinking I should have chosen them. They go beyond being an annoyance to a force for evil! Anybody see the hilarious Southpark episode about them? I usually don't care for that show but this one was right on! |
| Posted By: Classic Camp Posted On: Jan 8, 2005 Views: 1265 | I went with Infomercials. I suppose if my car were recently hit by an illegal alien, I would vote for that one. But Infomercials have setroyed everything I once loved, professional wrestling and hosted horror movie shows. It's just too damned costly for small local original programming anymore. |

| Posted By: Dr. Maltiy Posted On: Dec 8, 2004 Views: 1197 | Don't really consider Dokken glam To me, they seemed to be more of a straight up melodic metal band, they didn't do the transvestite/sleaze thing like a lot of the "hair" bands. Hanoi Rocks bridged the gap between the early 70's sleaze/glam and the late 80's stuff. |
| Posted By: Classic Camp Posted On: Dec 8, 2004 Views: 1174 | Agree with Jens. Hanoi Rocks is awesome, one of my all time favorite bands period. Of the choices here I picked Ratt. They had a few songs I liked. |
| Posted By: Thrash-head Posted On: Nov 25, 2004 Views: 1188 | oh yeah... And I voted for Winger...**** you all, they rocked!!! |
| Posted By: Thrash-head Posted On: Nov 25, 2004 Views: 1113 | hey... Where the **** is Dokken? It ain't rockin' if there's no Dokken!!! Arnold |
| Posted By: Jens Hellroute Posted On: Nov 23, 2004 Views: 1116 | Tuff choice Twister Sister cuz I hate'em the least of the choices, haha. Actually, I own that Under The Blade album (their 1st) and it got some okay tracks. But why isn't Van Halen included? I totally their 3rd album, Women and Children First. And what about Hanoi Rocks, Mötley Crüe was just **** poor ripoff of these Finnish glampunks. Their 1st LP kicks butt. Okay, enuff with the shameful skeletons in my 80s closet... |
| Posted By: Dr. Mality Posted On: Nov 20, 2004 Views: 1087 | Pearcy Ratt was a guilty pleasure of mine and those guys could be fairly heavy if they wanted to. "Round and Round" is just a classic tune. But I saw Pearcy at Elixur about a year ago and he's just a complete has-been now. Pretty sad... Much as I liked Ratt, I picked Twisted Sister. If you crossed Motorhead and Kiss and stuck in some pop melodies, you'd wind up sounding like Twisted... |
| Posted By: Sgt Deth Posted On: Nov 19, 2004 Views: 1098 | Ratt Rules Stephen Pearcy has an unforgettable voice that always brings me back to the '80s. You can just smell the hair spray every time Ratt is played full blast. I like Out of the Cellar the best. I'll never forger when the video came out for round and round, starring uncle Milty. |
