RE: A little question!

Why would you even want to be a racist? Come on! What about all the people that died and fought for our freedoms? Dude, it takes all kinds! Celebrate the differences and the beauty within all people. Just curious, do you live in the South? I lived in the South for awhile and the BS of being prejudice was so strong that I couldn't believe it! There are Country Clubs in Pine Bluff, Arkansas that won't let black people swim in their pools! That is so whacked!

I also lived in the Northwest were racism is almost non-existent and it was great!

RE: A little question!

This may sound completely naïve, but I don’t understand racism. It can’t be inherent, it has to be passed on to new generations, so why do it?

It’s not that I just haven’t had exposure to other races. Where I live, approximately 50% are white, with the other half of us originating in India, Japan, China, the Philippines and other such Asian countries. When I lived in Texas, I lived in a predominantly Black and Hispanic neighbourhood. Wyoming would probably have been the most “white” population I’ve lived in.

So with such rich cultures living together, why is it that children are taught to be racist? Why is it that I have to teach my mother and aunt not to be racist?

I once read something to the effect of, “if everyone had children with someone who was a different colour than them, eventually all the races would look the same”
