Just because you can shoot well, doesn't mean you can dribble well, avoid having the ball stripped, get the shot off without it being swatted away, etc...

Yeah, well I still think its a good idea, because even if you can only shoot, all you have to do is get the ball passed to you when your open and in the 3 point area. Nik you have to be pretty inefficient in basketball not to be able to dribble. Dear Doc, Wow doctor aren't we a little foolish? I've expected some odd and naive statements from you, but obviously your always one uping yourself. Doctor you can make millions from that. Also speed reading would not help someone such as you, had you put that skill to good use you would still end up as ignorant as always. Always fun getting your comments though. Love, Sure

They would rather find someone that can drive it to the hoop. Plus if you were good at 3 pointers, most likely the opposing team would KNOW THIS after the first few games you played and keep it man to man defense so you always had someone on you. no "pass it to me while im open" if you cant play defense at all then they wont pick you, because you would be a waste of thier team space. And dribbling isn't hard in and of itself, neither is shooting. but having guys constantly trying to take that ball away makes a lot of difference. I doubt that any of these skills would be deemed highly profitable

I'd say with the one inherent skill (3 pointers), you could spend all your time practicing the dribble, working on your agility and passing, etc. As long as you were merely adequate, and I mean below average adequate at these skills, the oppostion would have to dedicate defensive strategies against you. An average team in the NBA would have one or two other serious offensive weapons. These guys with the all around skills would then have holes in the defense to pick through based on your presence on the court. When the opposite happens (double team on the power forward, etc), you're open. You're camped out behind the line waiting for a pass so you can score an easy three. Sure, you'd need a degree of athleticism, but I don't think we're talking about an unreasonable amount. At the very least you could play for money in Europe. Sure beats picking through clay shards for a year an a half, just to write a thesis on beating a dead horse.

I mean less of a shot? I think you could adapt. There are a lot of other things I would bring up but I think you did well enough for 3 people. Well put indeed.

Just get the ball passed to you and launch it. But having one guy covering you, especially when they are professional, and probably a full foot taller than you...then you are screwed. those basic skills arent that basic. If you just did standard dribbling you would have the ball stolen within 10 feet of walking every time. You need a good deal of those basic skills to play the game at all. playing street hoops it would probably be great. But not NBA. Maybe WNBA would pay good. Ive seen a few of thier games and there is more ball dropping and bricks in one game than the whole postseason of NBA. If someone could hit even 25% of all thier shots in WNBA they would be picked up.

The best rate of three point shots this year in the NBA is 54%, and that's from a lucky bench warmer who took only 11 shots. We're talking a 75% guarantee no matter how many opportunities. Latrell Spreewell (sp) makes something on the order of 35-40%. Even if you sucked at every other aspect of the game and tied your shoes together in high school, you'd still get 4 free years of college out of your shooting abilities. Not to mention the fact that Doctor Z sucks.
