Pins Survey

Nick if I lived closer I would try to be there with you fishing every day.
Since I live close to four hours away I would only be able to make the trip once or maybe twice a year. I'm going to try to make a few fishing trips in the future.

I like the solitude of the beach so I tend to stay away during holiday weekends, tournaments, and probably some of the better fishing periods when I figure there's going to be too many people down the beach. Of course it just takes one truck setting up 2oo yards away to destroy that solitude.

Holding back the years...

Hey Nick,

I think you left out one of the main factors for determining if a beach trip could be made: THE WIFE.

If I was single, I would be down there every weekend, no matter what the weather, driving, etc. I just can't get enough of PINS.

Unfortunately, my better half gets flaming mad every time I want to go fishing. She ain't the outdoor type, so its of no use trying to invite her along.

Big Shell

Hey Nick, this is Jeremy from Sa Tx. As it is I only get the chance to visit PINS once every 3 weeks. It was a family medical scare that made me miss my last trip. Unless there are lightning bolts aimed at me I don't care about gas prices, fishing reports, weather, surf temp, beach driving conditions, debree, I'll even over look weed at this point. I'll be on PINS Sat. July 12, maybe I'll see you. Jeremy aka Super~Mex

PINS

I love the place and have all the 4wd, recovery, camping and fishing gear. The decision to go centers around predictions of weather, weed and suitable fishing partner to take along. All of this has to come together in a complex algorithm that, many times, produces a "no-go" solution.

I think I could relax the equation with more understanding of the fishing and how to match the bait, type of fishing and surf conditions. That will come with more trips.

Thanks for the forum.

Distance

Minimum 12 hour run each way just to the end of the blacktop from home. Still try to make it at least once a year.

What stops me from fishing!

Hey I thought PINS was too crowded. At least that's what the folks say who don't like me giving fishing reports for fear of them losing their private fishing hole.

time

it takes almost 7 hours for me to get to corpus so I have to plan my trips in advance and with a new baby it is just hard to get down there right now

I live too far away!
Need a 4wd.

I try to make it as far south as I can each trip.
I know when to stop when my wife screams 'We're getting Stuck!'.

Caught nothing but salad in June.
Better luck at Bob Hall this time.
(several BlackTip over 2 ft and a few Gafftop)
Will be back in August.
