Posted By: Syrgot Posted On: Jul 11, 2004 Views: 1264 | Arizona Arizona is over rated. I grew up in Boston and moved here when was 12...everyone in Boston who I go back and visit it like "Oh wow...thats luxury right there...you're near the ocean and near the palm trees...and its always summer...ohhh ohhh...and the grand canyon! You have the grand canyon!!" Near The Ocean: WRONG (This is a fact that no American has an excuse for not knowing.) We're near Califorina...yes...that's true...but unless you're living on the side of the I-10...the closest actual city in Arizona to Califorina is like....not....close to Califorina...it's at least an 8 hour drive. Palm Trees: They're imported from Califorina. It's Always Summer: Yes...that is true...but there's a difference between Summer in Boston (85* and Humid) and Summer in Arizona (127* with ROLLING BLACKOUTS AND FOREST FIRES!!!) The Grand Canyon: Beautiful...yes....yes it is...but it's saturated in the people who rave about how Arizona is so exoctic and near the ocean...it makes me sad.... Sorry for my rant... |

Posted By: jiggy Posted On: Jul 12, 2004 Views: 1252 | RE: Arizona It's great if you only like to see shades of brown. I enjoyed my 2 weeks there for vacation but would never be able to live there. |
Posted By: damer Posted On: Jul 12, 2004 Views: 1226 | RE: Arizona I live in Arizona and it's great when it's not 115 outside. It's actually only 5.5 hours from Phoenix the beach if you don't drive like my Grandmother. California is really overrated. |
Posted By: Syrgot Posted On: Jul 12, 2004 Views: 1220 | RE: Arizona But there is nothing to do here! It's soooo blooody booooring. And Yes...to whomever said it....ASU is a good school. All 3 of the universities here are good. They all have their strong points, but the three combined cover basically everything. |

Posted By: Aurora Posted On: Jul 12, 2004 Views: 1215 | RE: Arizona I once spent a night in a hotel just outside of Phoenix. It was by far the most beautiful hotel, in that price range, I have been in. There was gorgeous foliage in the lobby, and around the pool, amazing suite with a private deck as well. |

Posted By: Kallisti23 Posted On: Jul 13, 2004 Views: 1183 | RE: Arizona Wow, dingbats from the East Coast should really learn more about how to read maps...it would take 2 seconds to see that the ocean never touches Arizona sands. As a native of Arizona I think that I can honestly say that ASU is not a great school (unless you are majoring in Beer Bong Engineering), Phoenix sucks (unless you really like the feeling of L.A. without the movie stars), and we have never had rolling blackouts (that's CA...not AZ). Why Arizona IS a nice place: The heat is intense but it is not humid at all; The mountains are sooooooo beautiful (when some jackhole hasn't set them on fire); The University of Arizona is here (A much better school than ASU could ever hope to be); Mexico is just a car drive away (there IS a beach at Rocky Point and 18 year olds can get trashed in Nogales); REAL mexican food; Tucson is a test market (we get to try a bunch of new stuff before the rest of the US) and lastly, EVERYTHING IS DIRT CHEAP (compared to Bean Town or most anyplace else). Is AZ overrated? Yes, by lots of old people who seem to think that cowboys still roam the deserts and wrangle cattle; but that doesn't mean that it totally sucks. It has it's good and it's bad, just like any other place (especially the East Coast. Good food, nasty humidity). |
