Who she is has already let herwalk free for too long. Most people including myself would have been placed in prison on the day of sentencing. If it were me I would have to make my appeals from jail. She committed the crime, now she must do the time...even if she is Martha Stewart. |

What kind of justice allows murderers and pedophiles to roam free, however, jails a person for a lie that harmed only themself? The same kind of justice that allows the ego of a prosecuting attorney to bring Martha to court, and the same that allows the judicial system to send her to jail when she is the only victim save their own egos. Doing the time is Marth'a choice, but the fight should continue to the end and the apology should be as loud and as media covered as the fiasco of the the trial was. We should be ashamed of ourselves for not speaking out and REAL criminals should be thankful that they are not Martha. |

Many fans have mentioned that Martha should marry Edd Townsend and together they should fight this thing all the way to the Supreme Court. I agree. Just yesterday, two men were arrested in Mount Desert, Maine at Martha's Skylands estate for trespassing. I have a little "insider tip" that most likely it was two government spies disguised as inquiring tourists trying to obtain secret information for overreaching prosecutors to use in the upcoming appeal. I've been reading these comments posted by many of those visiting SaveMartha.Com and I think there's some good thoughts and ideas shared here. It appears that Mr. Small or someone on the SaveMartha.Com staff drove up to Connecticut this week in order to see and photograph the entrance to the Danbury Federal Correctional Institute. The results of those photos are better than I previously imagined. Nice trees and shrubs are neatly planted at the entrance. After reading the comment from Mike Conners, I figured there may be possibilities here for Martha to change the tide of "pundit-mania" now sweeping the world. Conners said: "Another fan said something to the effect that Martha should consider marrying [Edd] Townsend next week on his birthday or on her birthday (August 3rd) at the entrance of the Federal Prison in Danbury, CT. Every media camera in the world will be there and all networks will be focused on the duo, thus giving her approximately $37.8 million worth of free advertisement for her beloved company. It's a good thing! The media has certainly choked and suffocated her! This way she could beat them at their own stupid game." I'd bet with Martha's or Darcy Miller's touch that entrance could become the focal point for a "fresh start" in not only Martha's life but the media as well. Good idea! Martha really should marry Edd and allow him to fight this case with her all the way to the Supreme Court if necessary! I'm sure that Edd Townsend would go along with whatever Martha wanted, he even posted on this board saying that he would. So, even if the Feds say Martha and Edd could not get married on the prison grounds entrance maybe it could be planned with someone across the street or something. There are many possibilities. Since the prison is so overcrowded maybe Martha and Edd could live together in one of those on-the-grounds tents that the Feds have been considering. Martha could make a prison tent into a paradise, and I'm sure that Edd would enjoy sharing ideas for all sorts of "good things". Most likely, they would be happy no matter how tough the prison officals made it for them because happiness begins in the mind. One is happy to the extent in his or her mind that one makes up their mind to be. I really think that Martha is going to be ok, no matter what the Feds , the media, the bashers, or anyone wants to put her through. She told the truth on the courthouse steps... she'll be back. My guess is, if the good Lord willing, she will indeed be back, and it would be nice to see her come back with Edd Townsend as her husband. |

Sorry she has to go through the mess but, if she does time, she will see all the children affected by the terrible Mandatory Minimum law because of Moms who are first offense non-violent offenders. It will take someone like her to get the truth out about the destruction of families whose Mothers could have been better sentenced to rehabilitation. The shock of the law is being felt by more and more families and when you see a person like Martha have to go to prison for virtually NOTHING..you know it can happen to anyone. Our prayers are with her as she will be doing a great service for the millions of children who are affected by this terrible law that our government wants to make even stricter. |
