DBZ is within' my strict bashing field. AMV.org claims that Cowboy Bebop is the number 3 most used anime for AMVs, and though I cannot disagree, I can certainly agree that DBZ takes number with three times as many vids, if not more. This is sad. I honestly thought originality was the top priority of the AMV world today. The current stacks in the polls are disgusting. The use of 'Knocking on Heaven's Door', combined with the classy and old-school style of 'Another one Bites the Dust' is the development to an instant success. I can't see how only one third of the people who voted can see that. Sure, I'll admit it, for a DBZ video, 'For You' is more than decent, especially with the use of rarely used video clips(in terms of DBZ vids, of course), and a theme that's very different, but seriously, it pales in comparison to what 'Crack the Party' has to offer, in terms of quality and the like. I'm sorely disapointed. |

In CTP both, audio and video, works toghether to create a good video. FY has a great song which makes it shine, but music video should also be about a nice video not just audio |

And a video doesnt need story to be good. A MUSICVIDEO can go without story. An AMV is about showing a song toghether with a video. And this can be done anyway. It can be done with a story or be just fun to watch. CTP is fun to watch. FY just shows fights fights fights, and some faces of gokus friend. The character develpment aint presented too. Where the hell do you see it. In the text or in the video. I dont find it in neither. So FY is a misworked MV and doesnt fullfil the tsk. CTP is just a fun action cool paced vid which fulfil its task. |

Crack the Party was pretty much a mindless action vid with alot of good timing and effects. Just because Crack The Party had better timing and effects than For You dosn't make it better. It's the same principle as in the Acadamy Awards. Movies like "Pirates of the Carabean" and "the Matrix" may have been fun to watch and/or had great special effects but they don't have enough emotion or drama to win the award. The same applies here. For you is winning because it told a story, shows charachter development, and has an emotinal depth to it while Crack the Party just has alot of timing, good fights, and a classic song. |
