controlled tk experiments

hey there

im glad that somebody finally came out and showed how susceptible the "psi wheel" and balanced straw are to outside (non tk) forces.

for some quick background on myself, i am a 16year old. i won the national science fair, and have twice placed 4th at the international competition. i have presented some of my physics work for the secretary of the army. i am currently teaching myself graduate-level mathematics in my spare time.

just thought id point that out because i am a believer in tk, and people of that mindset don't seem to get that much respect around here.

i think that it is not logical to beleive in telekinesis unless it has been observed under controlled conditions repeatably. would you guys consider stopping a radiometer under a direct light source as controlled, when you are over 10ft away?

RE: controlled tk experiments

It sounds like a fairly valid test to me, but unless I was there to witness it, see an original video or possibly a VERY good eyewitness report, I'd just file it away as another bogus claim.

Now, were you the one who allegedly stopped this radiometer? Or were you only a witness? Also, is there any official documentation for this experiment/demonstration?

I am willing to believe you, but this is the internet, and most everyone knows that nothing can be fully trusted when it's presented on the web. ;)

I'll be looking you up, by the way.

RE: controlled tk experiments

as for the radiometer; yes, it would be me
i only had a passing interest in tk, because i was curious whether it existed or not (it would be a major concern in physics if it did). so i practiced with the psi-wheel dealy for about a month, and noticed it changed directions with my thoughts, without hands. this was interesting and all, but i understood well from my work with electrohydrodynamics that any electric field could do exactly the same thing (static, stray voltage, etc). in trying to invent a more controlled experiment, i purchased a radiometer, and gave it a try. now i was not able to even slow the thing down at first, but after practice of nearly a week i was able to bring it to a stop within a minute, even from several feet away. i gradually worked to the other side of the room, but overall had only about a 70% success rate (with success meaning being able to stop within the minute time frame). i then talked to one of my friends (the person who first introduced me to telekinesis), and told them about my experiment with the radiometer. they thought it would be a very simple experiment, and were able to stop it within 2-3 seconds 100% of the time (for the 5 tests we ran before i was convinced).

now, i know this is just a personal testimony, and i NEVER would change my mind on any topic based on some internet-opioion (unless accompanied by a standard mathematical proof) :-), so i do not expect anyone to do so. i am just presenting this to make you think.....that maybe the psi-wheel is finally obsolete (thanks to this website, btw), and that eliminates a bunch of crazy people who beleive anything they see. but does that exhaust all possible tests of genuine telekinesis?

as for looking me up, go for it

(last oral presentation, before all the poster people)
i dont feel like digging up other cites at the moment, but im probably listed on www.jshs.org, www.sciserv.org/isef, www.mnacadsci.org, and maybe on www.amjas.org

RE: controlled tk experiments

By all means, no. Of course there are far better ways to test for telekinesis and other psychokinetic abilities. The psi-wheel and straw are just very simple and the actual movements, more often than not, involve everyday airflow dynamics, (convection currents and such) as Keith so wonderfully explained on the main page of this site.

This radiometer test really is intriguing, though. I would love to see it demonstrated, especially from a long distance as you described.

RE: controlled tk experiments

I find this quite interesting too, since I was at one time experimenting and trying to produce evidence. I haven't worked with this stuff for a while, but would like to do it again soon.

As you say, though, internet anecdotal don't stand up to scrutiny. But the idea itself interests me, as does your story of stopping it yourself.

This friend that demonstrated the 2-5 second successes, did he demonstrate this to you in person? Or was this an internet friend?

RE: controlled tk experiments

it was in person.
that is the only reason that i really beleive in TK at the moment, the demonstartions in person from friends as well as my own (smaller-scale) sucesses that i have not yet been able to find a sutibale physical explanation for.

RE: controlled tk experiments

I just read up on some blogs, and see that there has been at least 2 other reproduced occurences of this.
Interesting. I'd like to try it.

RE: controlled tk experiments

really?
are they links you would be able to post here?

i have not done any researches into other reproductions and such (i have been to busy with my physics endevours) but would definitely be interested in seeing them

RE: controlled tk experiments

Nope. Thus far it's just hearsay, from people I tend to trust. Perhaps wrongly.
I need to get it together and chase down a geiger counter for myself.

RE: controlled tk experiments

Ah, you can read about one experience with a geiger counter on www.psipog.net - in Sean (peebrain) 's blog.
He closed down the interactive portions of the site because of his experience

I know, it sounds counter-intuitive, if not downright suspicious or wierd.
But he has his reasons, which he explains in his blog.

RE: RE: controlled tk experiments

How can people say spinning a psi-wheel under a glass container isn't proof enough??? Yeah i know raising air and convection currents right? That's BS the wheel moves the way i want it to so I'm either controlling the wheel or the air. By the way if anybody took a science class biology, you can never prove something won't happen. For example, you can't prove that everytime you drop that pen it'll fall. You can never, ever, ever prove it. That's why they have theory's. Everyone says TK isn't real because of the Quantum Theory or Newton's Law of motion. Quantum theory isn't proven. That's why they call it a theory. Newton's Law says an object can't move without an opposing force. ie. an object in motion stays in motion, unless acted upon by an outside force. That outside force can be...drum roll please...Telekinesis. Any of you retarded skeptics out there that want to argue with me email me at freakonature755@aol.com but if you aren't educated enough to put up a scientifically backed up argument don't bother

RE: controlled tk experiments

ok,

I have a huge interest in this and always have. I am not a skeptic nor a believer but i do take on board every opinion. This topic is the most interesting I have found and i have to admit i would like to see some vid evidence. I found a wine glass experiment posted earlier in this forum and is the most convincing evidence i have found, but unless I am there i will always have doubts (link is: - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XSTsHcqc31E&NR).

From reading and internet searching I found that tk (if it exists) has alot to do with the higher mind. Supposidly a state you can only reach in a deep meditation. Now the higher mind is again supposidly not only where tk can take place, but spiritual awareness and supposidly premonitions increase.
Premonitions is an area as grey as tk, but if people can experience, which i know i have premonitions. conincidence maybe but things like knowing the phone will ring before it does, or knowing who is on the end before i pick it up, knowing the door will go all aka "gut feeling or instinct, is it that unreasonable to believe in the existance of tk. I will say that these promonitions I have hightened after i have meditated, so i do think there is some truth in it.

You say that tk has something to do with being able to acess a part of your brain that is not conciously used, i know and have proved to MYSELF that i can reach another state and heighten my awareness to things and experience premonitions on a basic level even when i return to my normal state of mind. I think if i can reach an even deeper state during meditation then i may be able to experience premonition activites at my own will or maybe even basic tk, who knows.

I am not saying yes or no because its alot more complicated than that. But i do think that there may be something availble in a certain state of mind and i am only saying that because of my own experiences.

I dont want any1 to believe or not believe in what i have said because honestly i dont care but just want to give food for though.

RE: RE: controlled tk experiments

Heya everyone...

I've been sifting through the posts on this site and this particular thread was the most interesting of them all. Frankly the whole name calling back and forth and watching a few guys try to outwit each other at a constant rate gets incredibly boring.

I have read every ounce of this site that has been put together. I consider myself open minded in that I will take a look at issues from ALL sides (not both sides because there's more than that in most cases).

In reading through the initial page of this site, I thought "hmmmm, the guy putting this together seems to have some good points and interesting information or analysis." I wanted to read further and see what else he had to say because I began to respect his opinions since he seemed to be very clear in his explanations. I had many questions of my own while reading, but figured they'd be answered in some way as I read further.

Unfortunately, I stopped to take a look here in the forums and I am totally disappointed in what I've seen. I expected to see this same person who created this site to reply with the same type of demeanor in posts in the forums. Not even CLOSE! It seems as though the opinions and ideas from the person I was beginning to respect and take seriously just flat disappeared once I read his replies to others on this topic.

IF you are a mature, respectable person, you sure as heck have no need what-so-ever to stoop so low as to call other people names or patronize them for their thoughts, ideas or beliefs. You went from making valid and seemingly legitimate points towards your views on this subject to throwing elementary school aged temper tantrums and calling other people names.

You just made yourself no better than the people on the other side of the fence who do believe this TK exists when they began mud slinging. It's making you look like just as much of an arrogant jerk as they do. I encourage you to take a step back, take a deep breath and compose yourself. There was a person who put a post in who had seen a performance where the performer flipped some glasses and did some other experiments that were pretty amazing. They stated they weren't sure what to think of it and because you stood such clear ground in your main site, he/she looked to you to get further legitimate reply and opinion from you. Instead, they were told you owe them NOTHING and they're an idiot for even asking.

I was truly interested in seeing what you had thought and ideas you might have on the things they saw in this demonstration. Instead I saw a childish and arrogant response that was completely opposite of the person you seemed to be in your main site. Suddenly I question your legitimacy and standings. I doubt that's the idea you were trying to portray. If it IS the idea you intended to portray? Then you've done a helluva job nearly convincing another person that you had valid opinions. It was all just a "magic show" for you as well then.

This thread titled "controlled tk experiments" has had incredibly interesting views on the subject of TK and there's been intelligent and mature discussion on the matter. Suddenly it's the only area where you don't show up and say a word. I was ready to see another name calling session for the young man who tried this controlled experiment. I'm not sure what's worse. No reply at all from you or some demeaning name calling.

I am no scientist or schollar by any means and I have never tried to perform any types of TK. I am unsure of whether it's possible that it exists or not but I look to others, for the time being, who have worked with it to see how it's turned out. I will be checking further into this young man's experiences with the controlled experiments as he seems to be more credible and legitimate. I wish you well in your endevours to providing some solid answers on whether TK is possible or not. You're still young and have a lot of time to work with.

As for the initial creator of this site, I sure hope you take a good look at your actions and reactions. You seemed pretty cool at first.

Take care and best wishes to everyone.
