The Real Question

Since the complete free world is aware of the indisputable fact that human beings have never displayed any level of telekinesis under scientifically controlled parameters
or empirically provable conditions; the real question is not if telekinesis exists. It is quite clear that at this time it does not.

The real question is how do belief systems about telekinesis effect an individuals ability to develop skill sets somewhat similar to telekinesis?

Does a positive belief of a theory, vs. a negative belief effect the internal mechanisms, abilities and potential of the human brain, spirit, and soul?

RE: The Real Question

Humans, like every other animal, evolved into what it is today. Can humans possess super natural powers, alot of people would like to believe so. Why do people want to believe in telekinesis? The same reason people believe in a religion or God. Some questions can never be answered. But if someone created a human experient, where the humans were put on an island at a very young age and knew nothing about the outside world at all. Over generations, would these people create a god. A god to answer their questions, a god to make them feel safe, a god to set rules. Most intelligent people would agree that this would happen, and thus they would believe there is no God.

Would human evolution lead to telekinesis, the answer is obviously no. Humans are unique because we are the only species that survived and continued to evolve through our intelligence, and we continue to become smarter. And some believe that our evolution could result in the destruction of the world. So maybe over thousands of years, if we haven't become extinct, we will be walking amoung another intelligent species that evolved from an animal we see in our everyday lives.

The goal of all species is ultimatly to survive, so the question is how will humans evolve to survive from themselves?

RE: RE: RE: The Real Question

Well, that is certainly one way of looking at things. However, some may find it ironic that you have used an organ called the brain to reach such a conclusion.

An organ that Scientists knew little or nothing about until the Decade of the Brain (1990-2000). And because of the advancement of such technologies as the MEG, MRI, EEG, and so forth, the most intelligent men that have walked the planet are now beginning to understand the absolute stunning complexity, and vast potential of this organ. How it creates, stores, retrieves, associates, learns...trillions of cells, working in tandem, continually forming connections, growing, changing, repairing and light years more powerful than any super-computer created by man.

The average human uses between 3% and 10% of the brain, yet you have reached the conclusion with that same organ (which you have not the faintist idea how it was formed. Evolved?..lol) to conclude that no outside energy, crerator, or GOD interviened?

While I respect your right to your view, I respectfully disagree. Call me crazy, but I would rather be optimistic and allow my mind to remain open, to the endless possibilities that could be, rather than pessimistic and closed to the world of endless potential.

RE: RE: The Real Question

I was just stating a theory that you didn't mention wheter or not you agreed with. It is incredible that we are even having these conversations concerning these topics. Topics that can never be resovled. So maybe it is just a waste of time. You state the possiblility that an external enery intrviened, which I can't really argue with, I can just say I don't believe it. I don't know whether or not you suggested I was close minded. But endless possibility is what you want to believe in, as I want to believe humans can't do everything, not because i'm pessimistic, but because I believe it to be the truth. I allow my mind to be open, and then exclude certain things I have concluded to not be possible In my realm of possibiliy which was constrcucted through my life and education.

Some humans have come to the point where they realize total confusion. The more you learn the less you know. Should we live our lives to be happy, or to learn. Or can we do both? To search for things that we will discover we won't find in our lifetime. What does matter?

Is their really good and evil, or is their just humans. Is their external energy out there in space? Is their a God watching over this spieces the has to know more and more? Why would a God care whether or not we worshipped him or did anyhting he asked, because he is selfish, something we aren't suppost to be, strange how that works. Maybe this God does have flaws, maybe everyting does, maybe everything has too. If this God is real, does it limit itself to our planet or the universe. If it is discovered that intelligent life beyond our planet exists, will religions have to change, will their god have to be ruler of their civilization as well as our own. When we die, does our god choose whether or not we join him?

These questions are not worth answering. I can tell you now that if you want to be truly happy during your life to never think about these questions. To be happy you have to be close minded.

RE: The Real Question

Hello;

The original subject matter of this post has nothing to do with the existence of God. You intiated that topic under this thread, why I do not know.

I simply posed a question about how belief systems effect humans. However, I am happy to take it where ever it goes.

Good Day

RE: The Real Question

lol, now that I look we did kind of go off topic, I believe that if a person believes in something enough they could effect their senses. For example, blocking out pysical pain or creating images in your mind that looks like your actuelly looking at it. However doing something that disobeys the laws of physics cannot be done just because you believe in it enough. And thats where the existence of God and the supernatural come in.

RE: The Real Question

PaintedDemon,
I do not intend to enter this discussion but I have to correct a point you made. You said..."The average human uses between 3% and 10% of the brain" This is an urban myth started many years ago and still continues to this day. We use all of our brain and can can prove that with CAT scans and other similar brain scanning methods. If you Google it you will find the results interesting and will never make that mistake again.

Keith

RE: The Real Question

Hello,

I also saw that "Urban Myth" piece on MSN.com. It seemed to be an interesting piece.

I have not taken the opportunity to review the content of the research. This seems to supports my other point, as technology advances, accepted scientific "truths" change.

Seems interesting, I will review same and without haste comment on the percentages of our brain that we use, the current technology used to map our brain processes and any other conclusions or correlations the research asserts.

And please, always feel free to interject at anytime, that is what this is all about.

Go Rays!
