My physics teachers told me about it, he said we'd all get a good laugh. And I did. Hears something on the site "Once again, picture in your mind a round world. Now imagine that there are two people on this world, one at each pole. For the person at the top of the world, (the North Pole), gravity is pulling him down, towards the South Pole. But for the person at the South Pole, shouldn't gravity pull him down as well? What keeps our person at the South Pole from falling completely off the face of the "globe"?" Seriously, is this some sort of joke, or do people actuelly believe this. It seems this site actuelly believes it provides evidence of the earth being flat. If you want a good laugh and to witness the incredible stupidity of some people on our planet theres alot more fun on the site. |

I also like the claim that if the Earth were really orbiting the sun centrifugal force would crush us to the ground when facing the sun and fling us into space at night. Brilliant! Its amazing how they start by taking a basic fact then twisting it around and finally reaching a conclusion that is breathtaking in its stupidity. Its a bit like those that believe in TK really.... |
Posted By: Stethoscope Boy Posted On: Mar 7, 2009 Views: 796 | RE: lmfao How can someone actually be so stupid. Where are these people raised that make them believe in such garbage. I feel sorry for these people, and especially the children that would be taught stuff like this. I wouldn't be surprised if the founder of this society created it to test the stupidity of the world. And he's just sitting back laughing as people join the group of morons. If you go to the section where they say what their doing in the world, one of the things they say is that they have secretly infiltrated a school somewhere and are preparing to teach the earth being flat. I really hope thats not true. Its funny though comparing this to TK, because at least the flat earth society has theories, whereas TK doesn't (I've never heard of one). This makes it so we can easily disprove a flat earth. TK on the other hand, will remain what it always was, a belief. |
Posted By: Stethoscope Boy Posted On: Mar 7, 2009 Views: 795 | RE: lmfao And another great theory i want to share that\s on that site, is when they say that if you place grains of sand on a beach ball, the grains of sand will slide off the ball, so what's keeping us from sliding off a round earth. hmmmmmm, lol. Really? Gravity is causing the grains of sand to slide off the ball because the force of gravity between the ball and grains of sand is extremely small when compared to the force of gravity between the grains of sand and the earth. If there was a giant globe near the earth with a much greater force of gravity than that would cause us to slide off our earth and onto the other globe. But because there is no giant globe near the earth, the force of gravity keeps us on. Of course the globe would have to be very large (the same ratio as the earth and the ball). lol I don't even know why I explained that. |
Posted By: Sola Posted On: Mar 8, 2009 Views: 781 | RE: lmfao lololol, I think that site was meant as a joke :)) Apart from the "falling up" theory which really made me laugh, my favorite statement is: "Obviously, the world is static, the fixed center of the Universe. The sun, planets and stars all revolve around it (although not necessarily in circular paths), in a plane level with the flat Earth" Nice one! |
Posted By: Stethoscope Boy Posted On: Mar 9, 2009 Views: 775 | RE: lmfao lol, i thought it was a joke too. I looked it up on wikipedia though, and it seems to be a real society. There's even a forum you can look at thats pretty f*cked up. People actuelly believe it. |

You would realize how f$%ked up your heads are :'( (That was addressed to you ignorant posters. Making mockery of another's beliefs. One of the biggest dishonors you could have brought upon yourself. Btw, when you judge others it is in fact reflecting who you truly are. If you judge someone by their looks, then you are not satisfied with your own. Just some basic psychology for you :D) |
