Who cares?

Who cares if tk/pk/wutever-k is real or not? God says not to mess around with witchcraft. So...um...don't?! Sure it sounds cool and everything, but I'm not gonna risk my eternity to try out a couple tricks.

RE: RE: Who cares?

Do you honestly think that God would prevent some young kid going to heaven/eternity whatever, just because he played with a psi wheel?
If you imagine you have some sort of contact with God please tell him from me I think that if that is the case then he is a right arse.

RE: Who cares?

True, he died years ago when he self exploded due to a colossal build up of super-massive-egotism. This was just after he was boasting that he was indestructible. What a dickhead!

RE: Who cares?

God also says that no one sin is greater than the other in his eyes and that even to imagine you're neighbors wife sexually is the same as commiting adultery. Therefore trying/performing PK/TK is just as bad as murder and just as forgivable as getting excessively angry. God is going to let you into heaven, if you have asked for forgiveness, even though you have lied in your lifetime, right? Then why would it be 'risking it' to practice PK/TK?

RE: Who cares?

Uh, doesn't the bible claim Moses to use TK. I mean, it did say he parted a sea by holding up his hands...

RE: Who cares?

I really donĀ“t think you can compare the miracle of God parting the Red Sea- allegedly - with watching a piece of paper wobble about on a pin.

RE: Who cares?

What you suggest is probably true. I can't prove this to myself just yet, but I think it would be extremely exceptional for a human to have the capacity to create enough force.

God can be relevant in this discussion though because IT is one thing that can cause a human mind to believe in something 'paranormal' and focus energy with something that resembles true conviction.

It may be for example that the power of prayer is a real effect as some experiments seem to suggest. However, this does not help us to determine what this power may be, God, our collective selves, what?

RE: Who cares?

As far as belief systems go, the Christian belief system of the Holy bible is relatively clear on "witchcraft, wizardry, familiar spirits..etc."

There are many verses in the bible about such matters, if you are so inclined, go to www.blueletterbible.com and simply type in a key word and the correlating verses appear. Most imply the above is not something to become involved in.

Also, if you key word "Gifts" or "Gifts of the Spirit" you will find verses that seem to imply that Christians can and will have many spiritual abilities which would appear to directly contradict the above.

If I am to understand the Christian belief system, as long as the "Gifts" are practiced in the name of Jesus Christ, and are of God than it is acceptable behavior.

It seems to me that you can compare what is written in the bible to what is written into an insurance contract. You think you are fully covered until you actually try and make a claim...

RE: Who cares?

If you were compelled to reveal the basis for your belief expressed in the above statement, would you say it was drawn from personal experience, or a thorough discourse in Christian theology using critical analysis and Biblical exegesis?

Or was it simply for our entertainment?

Definitly drawn from personal experience and a thorough discourse in Christian theology using critical analysis and Biblical exegesis.
Hang on a bit while I look up exegesis....Hmmm, yeah, good word.

Yeah, what I just said.
