Telekinesis and skeptics

there is an explanation for gravity right? well there wasnt for a long time, but people believed in it because they lived with it every day of their lives

now what about telekinesis? just because you cant see it, does it mean that its fake? gravity is caused by something sitting in space and drawing objects toward it. thats intense stuff right there. how do you even explain that?

there is no thorough explanation for gravity, and neither telekinesis. maybe so far all there have been were fakers for telekinesis, but that doesnt mean it cant happen in the future.

RE: RE: Telekinesis and skeptics

I agree with you that the forces that carry gravity are not yet clearly understood, but that does not prevent us from proving its existence, we know for a fact it exists. We do not have to see gravity, indeed we cannot, to know that it is a real force, we can feel it and measure it. How do we explain what it is? Relativity explains it extremely well.

On the other hand TK has never been demonstrated, if it had been it would be a fact, not a myth. We have no evidence of its existence at all. We are not talking about what may happen in the future, we can´t test for that, we are talking about the here and now, people are claiming to have TK here and now. We don´t have TK so it´s not at all surprising we have no explanation of how it could work.

You often hear the argument that simply because we don´t know everything (your gravity argument for example) means we are not able to rule out any bizarre claim that comes along. That of course is nonsense, what an odd way of looking at things! This would mean that we would have to accept as a possibility anything that anybody claims (but doesn´t demonstrate) such as levitating, walking through walls, shooting laser beams out of their eyes, whatever.
If someone claims they have TK then all they have to do is demonstrate it. It´s that easy.

Not at all, if you say you can do it then I am sure you can. Does it hurt?

RE: Telekinesis and skeptics

Seriously? I don't see how you can use gravity as an example, sorry to break it to ya buddy. True we did live with gravity everyday, we knew it was there despite we couldn't see it, we did live with it unable to explain it for a long time. You know what though, they knew it was there because they knew something had to responsible for the apple falling out of the tree. If the idea of TK to be used in entertaining fantasies had never been thought of, no one would even be attempting it and claiming they can do it. I used to think that TK could be real because I have an open mind, but after working on it I couldn't find any actual valid proot of its existence. There are alot of mysteries in this world, but TK would have been presented, or even better proven in a test lab by now. If TK is real, then we obviously can't use it, or find any hints of existence.

RE: Telekinesis and skeptics

Yeah so i'd like to say a few things because there were a couple thoughts on here that were a little funny. First of all if TK were shown like the 2nd comment was saying it would NOT be fact it would be a theory. We learn this in Science class haha it has to be proven over and over under multiple different scenarios and lab tests. That's why I love science because its so objecttive in proving things and learning.

Now, don't get me wrong if I had one wish it would be to have Telekinetic powers. But I can't see them being real from what I see on the internet, though I have the mind to believe in anything and I think there's things with our mind we are unknowing about.

Now I also would like to say I strongly use the test point as why I fail to believe in TK. If I learned to use it, then you better believe I would be famous! I would show it in lab tests and prove it. But with as many who claim to be able to but haven't gone through scientific process to make it fact, THAT shows me that its all magnets and parlour tricks.
