It was all about showmanship, and there was nothing new, no substance. Kerry had a great opportunity to go for the kill and say exactly what his plans were, and Bushy had a chance to bring something new to the table, but neither did. It ended up being a battle of elocution. I think it is obvious to everybody that Kerry was the better debater, with greater ability to put on a show. Bushy looked tired. I just feel a little insulted that they think that the American people will be blinded by the bling bling of their public performance and they can be thin on substance. I think people want to know the policies and hear the plans, and they were shortchanged on Thursday. |
