Mariah has a very sexy body while Madonna is unbelievably fit for her age. It is also true that MC has now sold over 8 million Mimis worldwide. However, my bet is that Confessions will definitely outsell Mimi in the world. Madonna has sold more than 3 million albums in less than a month. Regarding plagiarism, Mimifan, if anyone can steal songs and sell them, why hasnt everybody become Madonna? Why dont you try to do it and become as RICH and FAMOUS and ICONIC as MD? Because MD is clever. Mariah is not. After all, it's not about singing, it's about ENTERTAINING. And it's show BUSINESS. And Madonna is the ultimate businesswoman. No other female singer will ever enjoy her success because no one else has this unique combination of brains, aggresive sex appeal, energy, work ethics, charisma, ambition, perseverence and calculation. Also, Madonna has succeeded in everything: enormous fortune, worldwide fame, iconic status, influence on people, movies (yes! she has a Golden Globe and 2 Oscars for her songs), and FAMILY with a young husband and TWO bright kids. You can say Mariah doesn't sell much, but this week she crossed the 8 million-copies-sold-line. 2 more million and it's a Diamond Album. So you don't have to say she doens't sell a lot, we belong together sold 5,5 million singles , so don't say it's only because of the airplay. Lots of airplay also means people like te song, otherwise that wouldn't play it that much. if more than 200.000.000 million people have listened to we belong together on one week, it kind of means someting doesn't it? And that for the US only. |

However, Madonna is much-much more popular outside the US. Mariah has sold more than 4 million Mimi albums in the US but only 7 million worldwide. She will, probably, end up with around 9 million. Madonna will likely sell 3 million of Confessions in the US but will definitely outsell Mariah on the global scale with, maybe, 12 to 14 million. Moreover, Madonna has an iconic status whereas Mariah does not and never will because she has nothing to say. Madonna will remain in history as a much more influential figure and trendsetter and Mariah will not. And let's see what will happen to Mariah when she is 47. |
