TOPIC: Sorry, off topic...

I am british (and as im at uni and cant afford a tv licence or, it seems, newspapers) can i please have an american point of veiw on the election. i.e. Why the hell did Bush win?! From my point of veiw he seems to be a bit of an idiot! (understatement of the century) Or perhaps i am subject to propoganda?
Posted By: Mo' Posted On: Nov 5, 2004 Views: 717	RE: Sorry, off topic... that's the beauty of democracy- everyone is entitled to an opinion and votes based on said opinion. after watching some of the interviews of who's going to vote for whom i was appalled at the lack of intelligence in the answers and what their vote was based on. of course, there's always the opinion that GW follows his heart and does what he feels to be the right thing (and who hasn't been wrong in that regard?) and even if he's badgered he will not falter. that's an appealing feature to have in a president when we're at war. i'm not going to go into wheather or not i think the war was right but i think it's a bad idea to change presidents during a war. especially when the potential new president opposes the war (and the war he fought in). i think a lot of people who voted for kerry did so because they didn't support the war but the fact remains that electing kerry wouldn't end the war and bring our soldiers home overnight. and i think we probably see a lot more of our president and his opponents on a daily basis, living in this country, than anyone in a foreign country, even if the media only shows us what they want us to see. hope that helped a little.
