I don't really understand how to use it too well, but I'm that way with PC's as well. My iPod was also a gift from the ex and although it is first generation it is running smoothly and the battery is still good for 2+ hours. I've never had any problems with either of them in the past year and a half and I really don't understand why you would call them inferior products. Maybe I just got lucky with my Mac products, but I've definitely many people's PC's get screwed with viruses and the like. If somebody's complaining about their computer, it's almost always PC people. I think the PC people hate Mac people because they never complain about their computers and the PC people feel ripped off. |

Most people and business use PC's, and thus, there's much more depth and breadth in software. This also the reason why PC's are victimized by viruses more than Macs. I don't have any ill will towards Mac computers in general, rather more towards their users who will viciously attack any negative connotation given to their product of choice, as evidenced by the original poster. Also, I think Steve Jobs is an a-hole who takes advantage of his loyal following with overpriced hardware and his lack of licensing to allow for advancement of his platform and more choices for the users. one example: If you want to buy music for your ipod, you have one choice: iTunes. or you can download it illegally of course, or buy the CD at a store and rip it. |
| Posted By: Mo' Posted On: Nov 5, 2004 Views: 1238 | RE: iPod plod one thing you all seem to be missing is the fact that way back in the day when PCs and Macs first came out Steve Jobs decided not to allow cloning of his computers/system (ironic since windows and the Mac OS are nearly the same). PCs allowed clones from the get-go. who would have thought that allowing a bunch of other people to copy your work would be profitable? that's the main reason that PCs are cheaper and software is more readily available, it has nothing to do with preference or which is actually better. it's about the almighty dollar, just as everything else is. well, everything that isn't about sex, at least. =) |
