I thought this was pumpkin carving! Not sculpting!

Seriously! Skeletor is cool! But realistically this is a carving contest. Not a sculpting contest!

ok you need to just put your hand down and go sit in the corner.
i am going to define this word for you.all results are from a google search.

define carving (search on google.)
1. carving -- (a sculpture created by carving (as wood or ivory or stone))
2. carving, cutting -- (cutting away parts to create a desired shape)
3. sculpture, carving -- (creating figures or designs in three dimensions)

i did write a really smartass remark here but i think the person who posted the original message may be retarted and i dont want to hurt his/her feelings so i removed it

Dear Mepball,

I apologize for your serious lack of inconsideration for the intelligence which I have and the ignorance in which you seem to have. No I don't know you, I assume your a nice person! Similarly as I am. Carving from experience, is the cutting of a piece of wood or other object into a 2 dimensional figure. i.e. " I carved our names into the tree." You can't sculpt it into a tree!
Sculpting is a 3 dimensional figure. i.e. I collect Sculpted sandcasted figures. Not carved sandcasted figures.
Thank you for the definition. It was much appreciated!! You seem to be a nice person, though!! :-)

RE: I thought this was pumpkin carving! Not sculpting!

First of all, carving your name in a tree is 3 dimensional...it has length, width and depth. Writing your name on a piece of paper is 2 dimensional.

I assume that you think the Skeletor pumpkin is sculpted out of clay or something and then placed into the pumpkin. I don't think this is the case. It is absolutely possible to carve something that detailed out of a gourd. If you don't believe me, check out http://sandemons.com/pumpkins.html.

Whoever carved this pumpkin is really just very talented. Don't be a hater because you don't possess the same talent. Appreciate the art!

I majored in art. It's the same thing...I did enough of it in my four years of college.
