But personality wise, the Dark knight, mainly because of the dialog before hand. But I have not played the game in quite a while so I am playing off of memory, after all a dark warrior seems to be considered pretty swank. |

Of course, paladin is much better in game "'cause he's holy"; I mean, he's 20 levels lower than and twice as strong as everyone else. Cecil the Dark Knight, however, was incredibly weak, but he was actually an interesting character, as are dark knights in general. There's too much stigma about being good or evil, and often those with no care towards the apparent balance between them, typically the same people thought as evil, are often infinitely smarter and have more tolerance for all things. |

Dark Knight Cecil was a whiny bum (My heart...is as black as my armor!), but he was useful for his part of the game. I think I'm going to vote 'Rydia', 'cause she blows both of them out of the water. She's just that cool. |

| Posted By: Rei Posted On: Dec 6, 2004 Views: 1297 | The Paladin Cecil as a Dark knight had so-so vitality, attack, no magic, eventfully pathetic magic defense, and his dark sword sucks against undead But as a Paladin, he enjoys High hp, defense, attack, and his magic strength and speed are okay, and he has rather good magic defense, not to mention mid level white magic, and can weild many weapons, not to mention holy swords which tear the undead new ones with ease (I managed to level both up to lv99 so I know how to compare); though in game play a Lv1 Paladin is about equal to a lv20 Dark knight (not to mention by the time you get off of Mt Ordeals, Cecil will be able to handle many things) |

Cecil's equipment as a Paladin far outranks his Dark Knight equipment, even if you were to scale it up. He becomes a physical tank, resistant to most status, and can still deal some decent damage. Dark Knight Cecil is better at crowd control, but doesn't have the overall durability or power to compete. Personality wise, it's the opposite. You see, Dark Knight Cecil actually had one. |
