Oh yeah!!!!

I like it when there are limited characters so that way you dont have to train a s**t load of people and like on ffx you can switch them during battle for different monsters

The thing is Variety

I like games with lots and lots of characters (But not with hundreds like Suikoden) because they have various possibilities, like, more option in the boss estrategy, they give the possibility to some ROCKIN' side-quests, and you're always willing to have plenty of'em.I just can't get enough of games like that. But that doesn't mean I don't play games like Terranigma, Final Fantasy. But games like that makes me bored if they have a small number of characters. But, it's just my opinion and I hope someone will agree with me.I create a nez character for my soty everyday, so you can see me. (I know to draw manga. Please e-mail me if you agree with me!Okay?Bye!

Oooh....bloodshed...

Haha. I think the parties with limited characters are the best because it allows you to customize them, so one character is good with magic, another is a fighter...

it's just better that way. ^_^

3 is the magic number

I like games where you get only three main characters. You can develop them equally and make a lean mean fighting machine. For example (though not a good one), FFX-2 had only three characters, so I managed to make some hostile parties.

One only. :P

I find that games with only one member at a time is awesome. Such games as Parasite Eve, Dragon Warrior.

Sometimes, it gets difficult however; and it's hard to accomplish very difficult stages.

5-7, give or take

hydro_dragon is right on the money- having a balanced number of characters gives you time to develop all of them, although the two mains will obviously get more screen time (thinking of FF). Usually, a good number is twice that of your maximum party because
1. It gives you diversity of skill
2. It gives the opportunity to split into two groups without weakening you at all. This is very fun in the final dungeon.

PS: NO MORE 'pure cutesy' characters, unless they actually have something relevant to do with the plot. Peco good, Razzly bad.

Any of them

I like any of them, but less characters are a little better, because there can be a better character development and is easier to be able to use all of them (something i like to do). But all in all, if it has a good story and gameplay, i dont care much about anything else (unless its horrendous).

Lots of characters!

In my opinon, the more characters, the better! That way, if I hate a given character, I don't have to play as them.

(I'm looking at YOU, Precis.)

Less is more

I prefer RPGs with small parties, or ones where there are around 8-12 team members, but they switch in and out of your team at certain points in the game (FF4).

numero uno

It's definitely gotta be a lone hero. It simplifies (or complicates in the good way) battles so much: you can manually move around and show some real dodging skill, and it's much easier to watch out for a single hide.

On top of that, if the hero needs to take an alternate route from his/her "party", you don't need to worry about interrupting the story flow - you're always the mover and shaker!
