WHYYYYYYYYY!

i know this is off-topic, but i really need to get this off my chest.
I cant believe that that the NHL season will be cancelled! the owners of nhl are dumbasses! this really sucks! i used to watch every single st louis blues and edmonton oilers games. i was a hardcore nhl fan. well, theres nothing i can do about it, so i'll just hafta deal with it, and hope the season continues next year. until then, i have only this to say;

Never been to a hockey game, never gotten into it at all, but that does seem a little strange, seriously, WHY would they cancel the money-making season, you have no idea why?

The rules of the NHL have been so unfavorable to the owners in the past few years that the vast majority of NHL owners lose money every year. Without playing the season, they will actually lose less money than if the played and paid the players. So from a business standpoint, the best option is for them to wait it out until they get the concessions they want from the players association so they can hope to some day turn a profit.

not much better than watching hockey live. not much worse than watching hockey on TV.

Salary Caps are in place in nearly every pro league and help. The average salary of NHL players is about $1 mil a year. I don't have a lot of sympathy on the players side of this dispute, I jsut hope the league survives.
