| Posted By: abc Posted On: Mar 16, 2005 Views: 1460 | heinkel and her chest well miss erin i never thought that one little comment would change the 'which comic next?' questionnaire would actually go this far... and all because i misunderstood something in the comic. about it being taken too serious, no doubt this is why many mangaka tend to shy away from public apperances and responding to fan mail. i remember a story about kosuke fujishima, mangaka of 'oh my goddess'. he used to enjoy fan mail early on but after a while into OMG people kept asking 'when are belldady and keiichi going to have sex?' this happened so much he dedicated a whole arc with peorth about finding out keiichis true hearts desire which ended with bell and him saying they were not ready to go that far. and fujishima doesnt accept fan mail anymore. back to point, this is why hirano never shows his face, if you look at the extras on the dvds the interview of him has a static image and his voice only... which is more than someothers like masamune shirow. i'm sure we were all just trying to rile you a bit... shows we care...in a sort of annoying sibling way... |

But the whole point of responding to that question was to make the ironic comparison between the question and the very obvious image. It was supposed to be funny. That's all. People take my comics too seriously sometimes o_o;; |
| Posted By: oni Posted On: Mar 15, 2005 Views: 1429 | heinkel at least no one will confuse yomi/ko for male. i feel there are points where the art work of heinkel is a bit too ambiguous on heinkel. in cross fire one in one of the first few images of her there isnt distinction between her head and neck ( sorry havent got the manga with me right now but i think its when she is aiming her gun at the 'heretics' initially), but then hirano said that the art work wasnt his usual standard since it was an 'omake'. in response to abc's comment, prehaps japanese fans much like the person erin address when asked if heinkel was fe/male were unsure as well and to clarify he drew that image as the cover for i think crossfire 3. as long as we realise that there was probably a long time between takobon in japan (like there was for vol6/7) so people may have seen her even with 'hirano girl chest' but just thought it was the clothes movement in an action shot billowing out. so thats my ten cents on the matter. the image of erin does look kind of disappointed/exaspirated in the person though, it should have had a sweat drop too LOL. |
