RE: Say what you want about Allen Iverson

When you say he brings "it", are you referring to his Glock in his pants as he busts down the hotel room door of his girlfriend? Or did you mean his best effort? I wasn't clear on that.

RE: Say what you want about Allen Iverson

GirlUWant, maybe you should STRAT WATCHING ****ING TV DAMN IT! Even if you don't watch TV all you have to do is read the sports section and you might find out who the **** he is!

On the day he turned 32, Chris Webber got a nice gift - his first win as a Philadelphia 76er and the enjoyment of watching Allen Iverson at his finest.

Iverson continued his dominance of the Milwaukee Bucks by scoring 48 points, lifting the 76ers to a 118-111 victory.

While Webber struggled in his second game with the club, Iverson posted his seventh 40-point effort this season and third against the Bucks. He scored 40 points vs. Milwaukee on December 12 and then recorded 54 here six days later.

"They play me straight up man-to-man, they don't do a lot of things to take the ball out of my hands," Iverson said. "Sometimes I wonder why they don't do those things, but I hope they keep playing me exactly how they have."

Milwaukee coach Terry Porter insisted he and his staff did all they could to adjust to Iverson's hot hand, but to no avail.

"We tried some of everything," Porter said. "We tried just about every defensive scheme there is. I think we play them one more time and we may try a couple different ones and see what happens. He has our number. He was just in the zone, he was making shots left and right."

The reigning All-Star Game MVP, Iverson scored 20 points in the first quarter and had 30 at halftime to help the 76ers take a 65-58 lead at the break. He reached the 40-point mark on a 3-pointer midway through the third quarter, a shot that pushed Philadelphia's advantage to 80-65.

Iverson, the NBA's leading scorer, added eight assists and four steals and finished 5-of-8 from 3-point range. He shot 18-of-30 overall.

"I hope I never take for granted what I'm witnessing," Sixers coach Jim O'Brien said. "He might be one of the greatest players at his position, ever."

Iverson's determination and drive are evident in the wake of Webber's arrival in Philadelphia.

"I have accomplished a lot of things in my career and have a lot on my resume, but all I want is a ring," Iverson said.

The Bucks got within seven points on numerous occasions in the fourth, but Kyle Korver twice responded with a 3-pointer and then Iverson did the same to make it 110-100 with 3:25 left.

Webber, who was acquired in a six-player trade with the Sacramento Kings on Wednesday, scored 15 points before fouling out with 2:06 left.

"Allen and I talked last night about wanting this win, because that's what is important. I can catch up later," said Webber of his second straight sub-par performance.

In his debut with the Sixers on Saturday, Webber was held to 16 points by the Kings and missed a potential game-tying shot at the buzzer.

Korver added 20 points, falling two shy of a franchise high for attempted 3-pointers with a 4-of-15 effort from long range. Vernon Maxwell shot 17 3-pointers against New Jersey in April 1996.

"I was pretty frustrated with some of my shots, but they (Sixers) were all over me to keep shooting, so that's what I did," Korver said. "I feel bad for Milwaukee, he (Iverson) just catches fire against them."

Behind a 14-of-14 showing from the line, Michael Redd scored 35 points to pace Milwaukee. The Bucks made 32-of-35 (91 percent) of their free throws but lost their fourth in a row to the 76ers.

"It's a frustrating loss, one that we clearly could've won, but Allen (Iverson) was exceptional once again against us," said Redd, who has scored at least 35 points in three of his last five games.
