It is the second largest software company in the world, with of course Microsoft being number one. Very large companies use Oracle, say, ones that have branches in France, England, China, etc. It is based on a central database that is compatible for all their needs. Just like Excel, Word, and Access are all compatible on our PCs, Oracle has made it much easier for large companies to control their inventory, accounting, correspondence, etc... Ellison wears very expensive designer suits and likes to live life on the edge. He almost died in a yachting accident a few years ago. He is on his fourth marriage to an author. Bill Gates looks like he dresses at Sears and just lives a much "safer, nerdy" life! |
