since this thread isn't going anywhere anyway i just thought I'd ask.... I'm a mac user, never owned a PC, and I'm looking to get a good and cheap one so I can play games. Is Dell the way to go?

I am happy with my Dell, and my daughter is happy with both of her Dells. My last boyfriend had a MAC, it was a cool machine!

For the most part, Dells work fine. Some games are tough on graphics cards so don't skimp there. I run higher end Alienware systems and Medal of Honor Pacific Assault will kill my laptop.

Never had a problem with my dell, it bugged the hell out of that if a waited one day to buy i would have got a bigger flatscreen for the same price. As for MACs, i hate them, pure and simple. We use them in one of our laboratories and though i dont think theres anything wrong with them i just dont like having to relearn all the basic stuff because its a mac. like to eject a disc or stick you have to drop it in the bin! WTF!

Thanks for the input. As for Macs, the only reason I have one is because I do graphic design / production work, but I hate them too.

dude im also gettin a dell...a P4 2.6gb processor with 512 ram...it should be a good buy...bro got a small business deal on it, paid only 590, rather than 900 something,

cant wait to use taht other than right now im using a P1 200...sometimes i use my P2 350...its saddening really, i cant even play solitaire without it locking up

macs have there purposes, like digital movies and stuff like that, i wouldnt like using one all day everyday, but i wouldnt mind having one
