. . . yeah, she's female. And the thing is, she wasn't supposed to be particularly androgynous either (as that's Integra's thing) - but I didn't want her to have a blatantly female shape (as that's Seras' thing). Add that to a too-large coat, and it became suddenly hard to tell that she was a girl. ^_^;

Thomas: your comments have been the most helpful so far. Thanks again.

Julian: I think that would be an in-character response, but not the only one.

er..

I'm a bit ashamed to admit I didn't quite know whom you were referring to at first, because I didn't realize she was a chick. Now that I know that, I dig her for the androgynous factor. Plus, she was quite fun ^_^

Sorry, but if she were any more M.S. she'd have married him. On t'other hand, the whole comic is about warping the canon (fangirls much?) so you get let off with a caution ;-)

I'm thinking the in character response of Integra to Reseda's suggestion would be more like "you want a fight? Well we can certainly accomodate that. Alucard, kill her."

An "OC" means an Original Character.

A Mary Sue is an overly perfect character with which the author identifies - and then proceeds to mess up the canon world by being perfect, having the main characters go OOC (out-of-character) to fawn all over her or fear her, stealing the spotlight, dying tragically, that sort of thing.

(All you fangirl people, shush. It will happen some day ^_^)

??

I'm in a state of confusion here... What's the O.C? And even after the "Mary Sue" explanation, I still can't really know what a Mary Sue is.

Reseda

I had no clue she was a Mary Sue until you said so. She comes off very well.

Reseda

i find it pretty much an OC. really like that part when she (its a she rite?) mocks Alucard abt his bond wif Integra.

i hope she will make another appeaance in the future.

btw are u going to do another fangirl/boy attack on the Hellsing very soon?

recent comic

I enjoyed the comic! Very creative and fun (and don't we need more of that in the world?) The character is new to me. I'd love to read Raven's comic if I could find the site.

Ehh...?

Really that one strip wasn't enough for me to judge one way or another... she simply... was.

Raven: Reseda has no intention of "taking your Alucard." That's left to Integra ^_~ I'm definitely not going to have a Reseda romance with any canon characters. That's far too easily Sue-ish.

abc: Alucard only attacks threats. Remember when the baobhan sith came in Order 09? He figured she wasn't enough of a problem to worry about, and even walked out of the house. Same with the chordewa. He didn't intervene until she actually caused problems.

And her design began long before I became a Hellsing fan, so it's not like I just copied Seras. She's not "immensely strong" or Alucard's equal, either; she's just strong enough to put up a good fight for a few hours.

She'll be back, though she may change in response to constructive criticism.

Sunny: The things Reseda knew by the time she started talking were learned by spending a week or so hanging around the mansion as a cat ^_^ And then she learned some more from asking Alucard.

Reseda = cool but . . . meh . . .

What scared me most about Reseda was that she looked and acted like me. O-o same hair, same eyes . . . same face. O-o She reminded me a lot of my original character from "Birds of Prey" and "Sword Dancer Chronicals". She's making a guest appearance in "Voices of Reason" too. (they were my Hellsing fancomics). That made her pretty cool . . . but . . . she took my Alucard!!! He's mine darn you! He's mine! All mine!! muhahaha!!! Anyway, I'm not exactly jumping up and down for another Reseda comic, but hey, that's my opinion.

*mutters something about locking alucard in her basement fro her . . . personal . . . use*

If you want to see one of the comics, drop me an e-mail.

Keep up the good work, Erin! ^-^
