Posted By: observant Posted On: Apr 28, 2005 Views: 1114 | RE: Greek EASTER Yea, did Jesus die on a different day while he was in Greece? I'm gonna make my own Easter too! It will be...August 18th. Everyone, feel free to take August 18 off from work from now on. Thanks! |
Posted By: ......... Posted On: Apr 29, 2005 Views: 1111 | RE: Greek EASTER Easter is the day Christianity put aside for that day, not the day it actualy happend. Esther (yes, this is the correct spelling), is now called Ostara and the Spring Equinox. Christianity changed the known date of the death of Jesus to help cover up a pagan holiday (most christian holidays are this) and to help convert the folowers of the "Old Way" Why cant you Christians come up with your own holidays? Don't get me wrong, the three months of Christmas is more fun than Yule, but get a grip already. Sorry, I get agrivated when I see christianity take old ways and holidays and copy paste it into their religion and act like they came up with it. |
Posted By: Snail Posted On: Apr 29, 2005 Views: 1109 | RE: Greek EASTER Dragonmaster! enough with the wiccan stuff. Christianity is much older than wicca so dont start saying that they stole everything from the wiccans. It's BS and you don't even realise it. didn't you say something about taking everything with a pinch of salt? you should especially apply that to wierdo religions. |
Posted By: Snail Posted On: Apr 29, 2005 Views: 1108 | RE: Greek EASTER I'm no christian either but heres something you should think about. There are 365 days in a year, there are god only knows how many religions, each with its own holy days. There is of course going to be some overlap so if you think religions steal festivals your wrong. of course there is absolutely nothing wrong with religions sharing holy days either. another thing, post in you own name. One more thing, religion should be embraced and exalted, NOT used as some kind of sorry exuse or as a guilt trip to put on other people -"your religion has done bad things to my religion so feel sorry for me, it's your fault" You are sinking lower and lower dragonmaster, why do you feel the need to try to suck the compassion out of people? is your life so empty that this is your way of compensating for it? |
Posted By: The Almighty Doer of Stuff Posted On: Apr 29, 2005 Views: 1088 | RE: Greek EASTER He's right, actually, Most Christian holidays were placed on the same days os those of pagan religions in order to help convert them. That doesn't make him any less of a loser and a retard, though. |

Posted By: GirlUWant Posted On: Apr 29, 2005 Views: 1085 | RE: Greek EASTER At the post office, there was an old dude and he was wearing a yellow vest with red trim that said some organization's name on it, and then he had a little can that read..."HELPING THE RETARDED" I was like WTF? That sure isn't very P.C. |

Posted By: Snrub Posted On: Apr 29, 2005 Views: 1074 | RE: Greek EASTER I am now unofficially unemployed so everyday is Easter for me...hooray for Easter. (BTW, I am such a lazy arse that on the last day at work I EMailed the resume (AKA CV) of someone who I work with to my home EMail so I could copy it rather than have to think of my own training and stuff) |
Posted By: Snrub Posted On: Apr 29, 2005 Views: 1073 | RE: Greek EASTER There was this greek woman where I used to work who stunk - really bad - I mean phew!!!! bad. Do you smell good Buff-ay? |

Posted By: GirlUWant Posted On: Apr 30, 2005 Views: 1066 | RE: Greek EASTER Snrub - that wasn't being lazy, that was being resourceful! That is awesome! LOL! When you make your new resume, use Copperplate Gothic Bold Font! I love that font, it is my hands-down favorite and it looks great on resumes. Don't use it for the whole thing just for your name, address, and the headings for your different categories. I have heard that you don't have to put a job objective on your resume anymore. That always seemed like a stupid thing anyway! You also don't have to include any past jobs that don't have to do with what you are applying for. I think resumes have kind of evolved for the better in the past few years. Good luck on your new job search! |
Posted By: James Posted On: May 1, 2005 Views: 1059 | RE: Greek EASTER Snail, Please, paganism is much older than Christianity. You can trace christianity back to dates. When kings started to change their religion of choice from pagan ones to christian ones. Gods come and go, all of them probably go back to some main one, and our perseption just changes over time. I'm not saying Christianity is wrong. Just that some of the things it does is wrong. Some of the things we do were wrong (thank the godess that animal sacrifice was stoped) (on both sides). I'm not saying you should belive what I do. Just don't take everything for face value, always ask questions, and if what your looking at currently cant answer it then then why stay? Don't make this a personal thing, you don't want to do that, just proves my point. |
