Sebaceous Adenitis

Five years ago, my PBGV was diagnosed with an autosomal recessive auto-immune deficieny called Sebaceous Adenitis.

At that time I contacted not only the breeder but the national breed club.

End of story. The breeder continued to breed her bitch and the club was non-responsive. Autosomal recessive, in case you don't know, means that both parents are carriers of this gene.

Good luck trying to contain this condition. The sire had produced more than 150 offspring, and I don't know how many the bitch had produced - all of them carriers.

urinary infection

When she was about 8 months old, Jacquie suffered from a cistitis. I was told it was quite common in small breeds.?
