Spiked balls

Spread even enough that the pitcher can throw it, but when someone tries to catch it they better have health insurance. And you are allowed to get players out if you throw the ball and it sticks in them. like "monkeyball" rules in kickball except its a little more disabilitating to get titanium spikes stuck in ya.

RE: Spiked balls

Problem with that. Some pichers can pitch a ball at 100mph, meaning the weight of a 100mph spiked ball is pressing on their hand. Still sweet though, they'd have to change a pitcher every time, you know, to keep them fresh.

RE: Spiked balls

Doesn't have to be a LOT of spikes, maybe just like the 6 main points and a pitcher could work their hand between.

RE: Spiked balls

Okay okay, so its not feasible. How about the ball is laced with explosives that only go off at a certain G-force. so guys like the steriod user Bonds hit the ball and BOOM a cloud of smoke and a prayer that its not a line drive that punctures a guys ribcage

RE: Spiked balls

Or retractable spikes that only come out if the ball experiences a near total/instant reverse in direction.

That way they'd not come out unless someone hit it.

RE: Spiked balls

then it would stick to the bat you idiot
theyd be like "what the hell??!!" and hurry up quick and throw the bat as far as the could

RE: Spiked balls

Ok, if it changed direction then that would mean that it had already hit the bat. I'm not posotive of the speed a ball has leaving a bat, but mostlikely it's faster than the speed of the springs that would release the spikes. If not, then a simple .01 sec delay could be added by imbeding the spikes a little further into the ball and decreasing the power of the springs.

RE: Spiked balls

Got a better idea? It's not like the ball hangs around on the bat for a sec or two. (in this case ha ha must be short for "oh god, brain overload, asshole made me think")

RE: Spiked balls

talking to you is like asking someone why they voted for bush, to which they usually reply: because im republican.
it makes you wonder why you even bothered to ask because you knew they were gonna give that brain numbing answer

(spent the past hour on that maddox site, of all the points he makes that seem reasonable, it is just the same rant heard a million times, though i like how he put some things)
