are you saying it's a bad idea for me to bust out the fry daddy to make malasadas? so far the dough has risen like a charm and if anything were gonna fail, that's usually it.

a malasadas is a lot like a doughnut - without the hole and it can come with jelly or custard inside, sprinkled with regular sugar or powdered sugar (it's of "Portuguese origin"), and it's the doughnut of hawaii

deep fried sweet dough...mmmmmmmmmmmmm

depending on the source, the hole is in the doughnut so that the center wouldn't be all doughy and raw. for small doughnuts that doesn't add up. (now that i've made the malasadas and didn't experience a doughy center) maybe for a ginormous doughnut the center would be an issue. people expect holes now and little kids love the "holes"...marketing marketing marketing
