A customer had a heart attack at my register!!!!!!

I was all freaked out to. He came up and said his chest was hurting and that he'd lifted something to heavy, he asked for a water and sat down, then about ten minuits later he just slumped over. I ran to check on him and he said he was having a heart attack. I called an ambulance and they took 20 f-ing minuits to get there. All I could think was, "please don't make me do CPR on this man, please, I know I took the classes and I will if I have to, but, please no...." anyway, they took him to the ER that is a half mile from where I work.

When the boss came in he said that it happens all the time, truck drivers get clots in their legs from sitting to long then they come loose when they get out of their trucks. He said about 8 people die there a year with that. Who knew? Ok, so if your a truck driver please stop and walk once in awhile, K?

Eight people died at your BK last year? How ironic is that? Fat dudes croaking over in BK in West Virginia.

RE: A customer had a heart attack at my register!!!!!!

I was talking to a stewardess on a recent flight because it occurred to me that sometimes people must die during a flight. She said it is actually fairly common and that she had experienced it personally several times. I guess it's something that they really try to keep under wraps. She said one time this guy was dead and they didn't know till everyone got off the plane and they tried to wake him, thinking he was sleeping. They had to drag in to the front of the plane and take him off in a wheelchair into some secret area where people wouldn't see him.

Still, 8 people dying at one specific BK seems excessive.

James you are such a liar. Nobody died at your Burger King and even if your total BS story was true you are the last person to be giving health advice.

RE: A customer had a heart attack at my register!!

I dont know if this is a big issue elsewhere or just in Australia because we are so far from USA and Europe but there has been a lot of media stuff lately because of Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT).

Basically if you sit on the plane for over 4 or 5 hours you can get blood clots in your legs which is cool because the clot stays there. BUT, when the plane lands and you get off the clots goes out of their leg and if it ends up in their brain, lungs or heart they are in big trouble. So its a good idea to make sure to get up and have a small walk on the plane every few hours, but if you're a BK truckie your blood is probably in pretty bad shape to start off with!.

Not 8 at the BK, 8 in the whole building. Were a truckstop, and we also have a starbucks, Tudors, TCBY, info center, pizza place, and a travel mart, which is kinda like a small shop where Bayer is $2 for four pills.

"and a travel mart, which is kinda like a small shop where Bayer is $2 for four pills."

I think we are all familiar with the concept of a "travel mart" but thanks for the Bayer rip-off example!

RE: A customer had a heart attack at my register!!!!!!

DVT was on "House" (the doctor drama on fox) the other week. Maybe thats why it suddenly became a popular term. And in all honesty, if DM worked at a junker BK on a highway i could see 8 deaths in a year. Those truckers (particularly east coast) have it pretty bad and if they smoke and drink they have high chances of clots or heartattacks. Its possible. Who knows, maybe people had a psychic premonision that DM would be working there and that killed them.
