US Formula 1 Grand Prix

I just finished watching the joke of an F1 GP.

I dont think ANYONE would want to be a F1 driver in the States at the moment (having said that there are only 6 drives anyway!!!!).

North America is such a huge market for BMW, Mercedes, Reneault etc... how could this happen?

chicane, that is how you spell that? I never thought about it, but it is such a cool word, and I like chicanes!

I prefer motorcycle racing, but not dirt bike, superbikes.

RE: US Formula 1 Grand Prix

GUW, does (Aissue) Matt Mladin still ride superbikes in the states?. I remember when he was riding here as a young man he won everything by a mile, a real talent.

And back to F1, I see that the teams that couldnt (or didnt) race may be charged with bringing the sport into disrepute. This is the most absurd underhanded power struggle ever. The choices were simple a)allow Michelin teams to use different tyres or b) put a chicane on the last turn. ALL of the Michelin teams agreed that in the case of a or b they would forego any championship points - so why couldnt the race go on with all 20 cars?

I remember him racing, but I have no idea if he still races. I don't keep up with that anymore since I am not married to a motorcycle freak anymore! He would be pretty old for a motorcycle racer, wouldn't he? They usually have way shorter careers than car racers.

If you're interested, here are some comments from Max Mosley on the issue(take them as you will):

http://www.formula1.com/news/3218.html

Frustrated as I am by what happened at the USGP, I'm still a fan of the sport, and wish it received more support in the US than it does. I, for one would LOVE to see an American (Such as Scott Speed) drive competitively again in the sport.
