Posted By: Peta Posted On: Jul 11, 2005 Views: 1039 | animal cruelty i started watching oddtodd's KFC cruelty video but then I just turned it off. Why? because I like chicken, it's yummy. I don't appreciate people trying to ruin it for me. |
Posted By: cuppajane Posted On: Jul 11, 2005 Views: 1037 | RE: animal cruelty Like I'm not all about being cruel to animals and I doubt I'd like to go to ANY butchering place and it sucks when companies do crazy crap but the VERY LAST people on earth I am going to listen to are the PETA people. I will listen to logical, informed, sensible people. |
Posted By: Snrub Posted On: Jul 11, 2005 Views: 1031 | RE: animal cruelty I disagree, if you at chicken then why not know about how KFC treat them?. I eat KFC quite often and was most disturbed at that video, I realise they feed the chicken hormones so they grow fast and they werent treated great but to treat them THAT BAD is disgusting. I'm sure the poultry farms are not owned directly by KFC so they can kind of shirk the responsibility, I intend to show my family that video and let them decide if they want to eat KFC food anymore. |
Posted By: I'm a goat Posted On: Jul 11, 2005 Views: 1027 | RE: animal cruelty there's so much disturbing stuff happening all around, enough to make anyone psychotic about the food they eat and products they buy if they focus on it. You know what happens when you over-dose on those brochures and videos? You lose your mind and become one of THEM! |
Posted By: Joe Posted On: Jul 11, 2005 Views: 1021 | RE: animal cruelty I will continue to eat chicken. The thing you can't see on the tape is what the chickens were doing before the camera started. They totally deserved it. Those bastards want to act like animals they can be treated like animals. |
Posted By: Turtle Posted On: Jul 11, 2005 Views: 1015 | RE: animal cruelty ****, I can't eat KFC. It gave me diarrhea for like 3 days. Popeyes is better in my opinion. http://home.att.ne.jp/grape/msa-akasa/gallery/desktop/turtle_face_03.jpg |
Posted By: cuppajane Posted On: Jul 11, 2005 Views: 1010 | RE: animal cruelty I totally understand your POV Snrub. I don't eat at KFC that video doesn't apply to me so I didn't watch it. My nightmares are way more graphic than any PETA video anyhow. If I had the land and stuff I'd want to have my own chickens and stuff but then I'd still have to hire someone to do the deed. So for now I try to buy free range eggs and meat. My home cooking kicks the ass of any fast food place, I'm such a good parasite to my squeeze!!! I have a feeling that if we all ate dairy and veggies exlusively a PETA group would protest something about that too. What I wanna know is why it's okay for Pam Anderson to have big fake boobs that had animal testing to make sure implants were ok in the body. Maybe not THOSE specific boobs but at some point animal research was done on all that crap, cosmetics included |
Posted By: Bob Dole Posted On: Jul 12, 2005 Views: 993 | RE: animal cruelty Of all the things in the world to waste time worrying about. It's a ****ing chicken. It doesn't feel pain. I don't give a crap what they do to it any more than I care what happens to my garbage after it's taken away. A chicken's sole purpose for existence is to become my dinner. That chicken wouldn't even exist if I didn't want to consume it. Ever hear about the chicken that lived for a year and a half without a head? It's true. Check out www.miketheheadlesschicken.com |

Posted By: Chief Chalkboard Posted On: Jul 12, 2005 Views: 982 | RE: animal cruelty is that for real? I don't believe it, if it was true there would have been other stories of chickens living months after their beheadings. as small as the chicken brain is, it's still a brain and it is still required for mobility and pecking. I might even question how it was possible for the chicken to eat and drink but I guess they just stuffed seeds down its stump. |
Posted By: adam Posted On: Jul 12, 2005 Views: 979 | RE: animal cruelty i beleived it at first cos when i read bob doles post, i thought it said day and a half....but a year and a half, yeah i dont beleive it anymore |
Posted By: Chief Chalkboard Posted On: Jul 12, 2005 Views: 977 | RE: animal cruelty ok, I took the time to read the article and I still don't believe it. |
Posted By: Bob Dole Posted On: Jul 13, 2005 Views: 966 | RE: animal cruelty Actually it's true. It was in the 1940's. If you google Mike the headless chicken you'll get a ton of hits. As the article says, he failed to cut off the brainstem. The reason why you don't see this often is because it was a freak occurance. |
Posted By: adam Posted On: Jul 13, 2005 Views: 919 | RE: animal cruelty right, but a year and a half? so his head wasnt completely off then, but then of course the neck woulda been severely damaged, so then blood loss and everything else other than the brain stem would for sure kill it...especially within a year and a half time |
