So, I dropped him off at 7 in the morning and the vet said come and get him around noon. I went to get him and he looked like it really hurt...so I went to Arby's and got him a big fat roast beef sandwich. He loved it and like an hour later, he was running around like nothing happened! Way cool! Anyway, I think it's a good idea and stuff. |

The difference being you can't live without your brain. You can, believe it or not, live with testicles. The other difference being that brain cancer is nowhere near as common as testicular cancer. Neutering also prevents prostatitis. Seeing an older, unneutered male dog cry in pain from urinating pure blood is pretty miserable. |

Otherwise they can get these really nasty infections in the uterus known as pyometra. And yes, male dogs get prostate cancer if you don't neuter them, but it also helps their behavior patterns assuming you do it before they turn two and more aggressive traits kick in. This is all in addition to the very important fact that irresponsible breeding leads to about 45,000 strays dying each year. (tell me if I'm remembering that number incorrectly). There is no good reason NOT to neuter your pet, basically! |

Their chances of developing breast cancer are reduced considerably by spaying at a young age. Mammory tumors are even considered "rare" in female dogs who are spayed before their first heat cycle. I have a degree in biology, worked as a vet tech and have worked with all sorts of animals for the last 15 years. If you want to do what's right, neuter your pets! There are many reasons as far as health (cancer, infections, blockage) and behavior (urinating, aggression, frustration, fighting, biting), not to mention unwanted litters. Just do the research... It is a simple operation and the recovery is easy on males. The sooner, the better... |
