If you took all of the bad things that could possibly happen in this universe and made them all happen to Van Halen, that still wouldn't be enough to satisfy me. That's how much I hate Van Halen. However, I'm probably one of the few people who prefers Sammy Hagar Van Halen to David Lee Roth Van Halen. At least when I listen to Sammy Hagar it doesn't have a noticeably detrimental effect on my will to live. He doesn't make me want to cut off my ears and shake my head like a dog and shower everyone around me with my blood and my pain. Unlike David Lee Roth. So I voted for Van Halen because I assumed it meant "pure" Van Halen rather than Sammy Hagar Van Halen. If David Lee Roth wasn't on the menu, I would've voted Bon Jovi. A vote for Van Halen is a vote for life. |

How can you not like Spanish Fly, Jamie's Crying, Ice Cream Man, etc...those two above mentioned albums were some of my favorite albums of all times. BTW - I totally respect Sammy Hagar on his own, I just think that the band as a whole changed a lot from after Van Halen II, before that they weren't so big, not as commercial, more pure rock, by the time 1984 came around, David Lee Roth was being a prick and they were becoming more commercial. |
